Need to know how to do something...
I need a computer savey AGD to help me (or a non-AGD). The past two years I have been using Publisher to produce the Alumnae Newsletter... the problem is that we are starting to send the newsletter via email and not everyone has publisher.
I have been thinking that producing it with Adobe and making it a PDF would be great... only thing is that I don't know how to do this. Could anyone out there help me? I either want to figure out how to make it a PDF or have someone give suggestions of other ways to make the newsletter more electronicly assessible. I would love to do what Hawaii Alumnae Chapter did a few years ago. Maybe one of the island sisters could tell me who did that so that I can get in contact with them???? |
If you haven't already, install Adobe Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader) onto your computer.
Once it's installed, you should be able to open your document, go to File - Print, and select the printer to Adobe PDF. Hit "OK" and it should prompt you to save the new file as a .pdf Hope that helps! |
Adobe also has an online "make a Pdf" feature although I haven't tried it out yet. It's at www.adobe.com
Our alumnae newsletter used to be made in Publisher and then converted to PDF for electronic disbursement. |
I already have adobe, so if it is that easy I will try it tonight!
Thanks everyone! |
Don't you have to pay for the "Writer" though? I thought just the "reader" was free. I think it's expensive, but I could be wrong.

Okay, I'm going to see if this works. The writer online is free for 5 times and then you have to start paying less then $10.00 a month or year to convert files online. That isn't bad since I already have the publisher program.
Now is there a way to attach the file to here? |
I've just scanned documents using Adobe software & saved them as PDFs.
