Processed Cheese
A combination of one or more types of natural cheese that have been pasteurized to extend storage life. Processed cheeses generally contain added dairy ingredients, such as emulsifiers to increase smoothness or melting properties, dyes to create coloring, preservatives to lengthen shelf life, and flavoring to enhance a distinctive taste in the product. Unlike natural cheeses that may have a distinct flavor or texture, processed cheeses are smooth, odorless, and typically mild in taste. The most well known processed cheese is known as American cheese.

Those Kraft singles are the single best example of "pasturized cheese food" out there.
That, and Velveeta.

I abhor Velveeta unless it's mixed with Rotel for dip.

Processed cheese and processed meat is absolutely, without a doubt the most disgusting thing on the face of the planet (that, and Marmite).

Oh, yes! Easy Cheese on Triscuits was a staple for me when I was pregnant with my older daughter. I kept two canisters of it, Sharp Cheddar and American ('cause I never knew what kind I'd be craving) in my desk drawer at work.
PS MTSUgirl, what is Rotel? Anything that goes with Velveeta must be good

I think the shredded cheese at Shoney's in their salad bar is Velveeta.

Kinda off topic, but I can't eat mac n' cheese that's made with real cheese. For some reason, it just tastes weird to me. It's probably because growing up, I never had homemade mac n' cheese. The only time I had mac n' cheese would be if we went to KFC.

Make Chopped Sirloin Burgers with Real Swiss Cheese if You can find it?
Now, You can get Kraft Parmasean Cheese, but not Chedder in the Powder any more which made Mac and Cheese that much better!
