I agree with some of the comments the owner made in the article. He does place himself at higher risk than the average person does. Essentially, flaunting your SS# on advertisements and taunting criminals requires less effort on criminals' parts to get your info. The average citizen isn't doing that (even if the average person is careless with personal info in some other way).
And in 2 years he's had few people steal his identity but only one that was supposedly successful and undetected by the credit reporting agencies.
Heck, there are currently at least 3 class action suits against the company for not doing what they say.
