There was a dedication ceremony yesterday (in the middle of a snow and ice storm). It is so wonderful to have the University Administration being so supportive of the Greeks there. I think that really speaks to the Greek system at Ball State and the Administration both!

Hoe did they pick the 4 sororities that recieved the houses? Where they the ones displaced by the dorm renovations?
I remember reading that one of the dorms that had sorority suites in it was being renovated and they planned to house honors students in it after the renovations.

I thought she said ribbon-cutting, not ground-breaking. If I'm wrong, then definitely don't need a pic of a dirt patch,LOL.
ETA: Ok, I read the article, and the women have already moved in and they just had the dedication ceremony. So..... pics please!!

The confusion might be this- Ball State is considering a Greek Village (so it would currently be a dirt patch), however since they haven't finalized anything, they turned over 4 university owned houses to 4 sororities (that previously had dorm suites). SO the ribbon cutting would be for the 4 houses that they turned into sorority houses. But when/if they build a greek village then they would move into that (I think)- the 4 houses aren't the same thing as the greek village.
And I searched for pictures, but couldn't find anything. The chapter websites haven't been updated in a while.

The 4 that received the houses were the 4 that were displaced. I think it will be important for that new housing situation to go well so that the Greek Village will be more likely to become a reality. There was supposed to be television coverage of the dedication ceremony but I couldn't find any clips online.
These houses are really very small. Ours can sleep 4 but we're starting with 3. Yeah, that small! It's a start though and let's hope it expands with time!
