CLOTHING manufacturers are catering for increasingly obese children by making school uniforms as big as size 30.

Jenni Mackillop from the company's NSW branch said parents often asked for specially made clothing to fit larger children. "We do see our fair share of little chubbies," Ms Mackillop said.
I am not sure you could call them chubbies in the USA

Childhood obesity = adult obesity

There is a reason for increased obesity... It may be medical, it may be genetic--or it may be something planetary going on but it is definitely a scientific phenomenon.

Genes may play a role, but I think the lack of activity, increased portion sizes and access to junk food play a role too. As do parents who give in to their kids' demands.

I agree with all of that... But what about the hormones in the food we eat today - Please don't think that I'm preaching or anything, I'm a meat eater and all... But that's got to account for some of the "growth" in people this day and age.

How can children on several different continents have obesity problems? But we even see obesity in children, even in places that suffer from of foodstuffs and this is not due to malnuorishment.

Also, it has been identified that some new immigrants to the United States often overpurchase food at our grocery stores because they are so accumstomed to lack of food. So, they store or eat a lot of it without regard to their health. Their thinking is they do not know when their next meal is coming... So, in essence they are inadvertantly stuffing themselves.

It still doesn't answer why the problems with satiation, eating and digestion behavior and lack of fitness. 50% of medical changes can occur by Health Behaviors. 10% Improved access and 30% Improved healthcare.
