Here Comes NEMO!

I'm all settled in, watching the snow start, as I'm in the projected 30"+ area. There seems to be a ton of hype for this storm. I wasn't alive to remember the blizzard of 78, but I'm mostly just going to be annoyed and cold if I lose power again. I'll also be annoyed at lack of water and ability to flush toilets. Time to bundle up and get ready to shovel snow half my height later today and tomorrow (I knew I should have remembered to get snowblower fixed). My Sigma Kappa crest cross stitch is ready to go by flashlight.

Anyone else ready for Nemo?

I'm in the 30+ area too! But I don't have much to get ready for. The best place to be during a blizzard is your dorm with a dining hall on the first floor, so you never have to set foot outside. Also it doesn't suck too bad that said dorm is in a city, so you don't have to shovel your driveway or clean off your car.

When did they start naming winter storms? And why?

Stay safe and warm, folks.

I think this is the first year, though "Nemo" doesn't exactly inspire blizzard like fear.... Maybe they are going for Disney themed names....?

Seriously! I thought that maybe the movie was being re-released.

Seems to me that tags like "blizzard of '78" worked just fine, but they didn't ask me.

I know it's wrong, but I'm jealous of not being in an area with a lot of snow.

To me that is insane. It is a beautiful day here in Austin, Texas-going to be in the low 70s-nice day for a jog on the trail. Stay safe people of the north!

I think we're only getting 2-4 inches of it. I can live with that.

I hate you.

The roads here are a mess. There are lines around the block to get gasoline. But I've got bagels, fresh fruit, and most importantly, gin. I'm all set

I'm still "knocking on wood" though, because the meteorologist here will say one thing, and then the weather will change to something totally different.

I hate aggieAXO, right now.

I know. I just went out to my truck to get something I forgot and it is beautiful weather here in Dallas. I'll go running on the Katy Trail tonight.

And, definately, all GCers in the storm area, be safe!

I was smart enough to move to TX from NJ two months ago. It's 70 degrees and sunny here in Houston!

All my family and friends in NH, MA, RI, PA, NY, and NJ hate me right now

Stay warm (and safe), GCers! I know what it's like to deal with those New England storms!

Add me to the "I hate you" list

I'm starting to think my in laws had the right idea when they moved to Florida!
