W.E.B. DuBois and Booker T. Washington are my play-cousins.

African Diasporic/Black History is world history, not just the history of the Americas and definitely not just "history that Black folks need to know about." Black History is not only to be remembered and studied during the shortest month of the year (February). The same applies to the history of other racial and ethnic minority groups. North American history books (and many history books around the world) certainly do not wait until a particular month to study the contributions of white men and whites, in general.
