Got invited to a party on only the first day of rush, is this a good sign

After not getting a bid from two fraternities last semester, I went to the first rush event for a fraternity today, and already got invited to a party later tonight (a party not part of regular rush). Its only the first night. Has this happened to anyone else?

I wouldn't think it is a good sign. They just want to see how you act at a party, and show you they can give you a fun time.

The OP needs to be more secure in himself and just go with the flow. Coming to GC and asking us if it's a good sign is a pretty silly thing to do, since we have no idea what that chapter is thinking.

At my school a lot of fraternities just throw parties during rush and invite whoever. Also, most nationals ban alcohol or w/e during rush week so it could be a bad sign if a frat throws a party during rush week. It could be dirty rushing.

Most (if not all) national organizations (and schools) say rush must be dry. But it's pretty silly to think it's a bad sign if a group throws a party during rush. If that was the case, it would be a bad sign for a PNM to rush any fraternity at my school.

Dirty Rushing isn't necessarily bad. A good time is a good time.

I wouldn't commit so easily, but enjoy the fun. You will have plenty of time to get to know the group. Most likely they probably do suck if they just want to party but I don't know who would turn down a party unless its really that bad.
