Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket Joe Paterno's Funeral

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports...ernos-funeral/

Not much else needs to be said.

One error in the article: Margie Phelps is one of Fred Phelps' daughters, not his wife.

Those tweets by Margie Phelps were sick. And yet, laughable.

I keep seeing them on the news, and I keep on thinking, "Couldn't they have taken up knitting or something?" I mean, at least knitting's constructive.

Meh they are just doing this because it will be a very high profile funeral, even without the controversy.

Bingo.

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

^^This is how I feel every time I see the word "Westboro."

They are very hypocritical. They claim they are prophets of God and do everything the Bible says. However, there are SEVERAL verses in the Bible that they willingly ignore/violate: Proverbs 24:17-18, Ezekiel 18:32 and Proverbs 17:5, just to name a few.

You would get into a fight over something that has to do with Joe Paterno or Penn State?

I knew what she meant. It makes no sense to fight over Joe Paterno or Penn State.

I would fight over a family being able to grieve over the lose of a family member. In privacy.

Nittanygirl, does the "Willard Preacher" still hang out in front of Willard and tell girls they are whores for wearing skirts? If so, take that as a lesson. I could always tell who the freshmen and transfer students were because they would be the ones trying to have philosophical arguments with the guy when the rest of the campus knew to just ignore him. Do the same with the WBC. They keep doing what they do because they get the attention they want. Look at them the way the "Willard Preacher" is viewed by students on campus. They aren't a church. They are a terrorist group (in my eyes). Ignore them. Just honor JoePa the best way you know how. I will be mourning with you. Stay strong my fellow Nittany Lion.

WE ARE...

Westboro Baptist "Church" isn't really a church, it's a family law firm, and what they "pray" for is that someone will assault them or violate their rights so that they can sue the hell out of them.

They are about as much of a church as my book club is.

(And isn't there a billy goat somewhere expecting Dr. Phil under the neighborhood bridge?)
