How to obtain Greek Unity.

So on my campus, I've noticed that there is very little Greek Unity. Houses and there members get stereotyped, and other houses get almost completely ignored. Its a rather blatant form of disrespect, this disrespect kills "Greek Unity"... I understand not everyone would get along, but sometimes, members of such and such house will completely prejudge members of another fraternity. I truly believe in the Greek System, I envision miracles behind Greek Unity... I'm just very concerned that its almost impossible, because some are unwilling to accept others. Anyone have any ideas how to improve Greek Unity? Thanks.

This sounds like a white supremacist rant only Greek. Miracles behind Greek Unity? Honestly I don't think much can be done. Stereotypes will always exist unfortunately.

I don't understand the white supremacist reference

Greek Life often works in cycles. The rivalries that exist sometimes fizzle out and Greek relations improve. It's not impossible for Greeks to coexist.

Haha no. The way he said it just reminded me of Nationalism. These things happen when you're a Poli Sci major I guess.

No, a Poli Sci major knows the difference between nationalism and white supremacy.

Your point? It reminded me of Hitler speeches, which is why I mentioned both white supremacy and nationalism. There can be both simultaneously.

One suggestion could be to do things as a Greek Community (All Greek Fundraiser or something) to encourage friendships between the chapters

Not to quote Michael Jackson, but make sure you're starting with the man in the mirror. Do what you can within your own chapter first. Is there a sorority you won't mix with because they aren't cool enough? Is there a fraternity that is so small they can't really compete in Greek Week or Homecoming week that you could invite to join your (I'm presuming) larger fraternity? You're not going to fix anyone, but you can make your own group the cool guys who everyone likes. That sort of thing I think has a tendency to spread, if VERY slowly.
