GC DSRM - Compendium of Crazy

As we know, GC is full of crazy. But when it comes in so many different varieties it can be incredibly difficult to keep track of what kind of crazy you're working with in any given thread.
In this thread we list the different types of GC crazy to provide a reference tool for future GC interactions.


Note: Although the word crazy is and will be used consistently throughout it is not meant to indicate mental illness. Having a mental illness is a lifetime struggle filled with much persecution, being GC crazy could be avoided by STFU.

The start of this thread by itself is crazy...but give me a few....

Matter of fact I will give someone the head start...

The Drama Queen Flouncer (type of crazy - COMMON) - This crazy will typically start a 1st post on GC with a seemingly innocent question, for instance "how to be a part of XYZ sorority". When they get a typical GC response that they can't endure, a tirade ensues which could last anywhere to 3 to 6 pages deep with the DQ being told 6 different ways to Sunday how wrong their approach was with typical comments such as "well my GPA is 3.999" or "my _________ is in XYZ Sorority and she can get me in" and eventually it may even lead the poster to wonder why they are being treated like this on a Greek site. It usually ends with the poster saying that they are leaving....but takes 3 or 4 more posts before they actually leave.

There is no one right way to handle this type crazy short of if you have an inkling of who this person may be IRL, passing the word along.

And, no, we don't need reminders of the trolls and sockpuppets that we have already discussed.

And here, ladies and gentlemen, we see a typical crazy presented in this thread: the entitled crazy. This type of crazy believes that she is entitled to answers regardless of how vague and/or stupid her questions are. Earpic Crazy (Extremely rare) --

A native of the Land of Happy Rainbow Ponies, this is a crazy of rare but earpic magnitude. Characterized by an almost incomprehensible syntax (unless the reader is intoxicated), an overuse of smilies, reliance on monosyllabic interjections (e.g., "Dah!") and a tendency to spell the word sorority as soroity, this type of crazy exhibits an extreme "gung ho" attitude to all things Greek in general and to the crazy's own GLO in particular. The knowledge possessed by someone with this form of crazy may lull unsuspecting readers into believing that the crazy always knows what he is talking about, when in fact he is frequently clueless. While he may at first appear benign and supportive, any suggestion that he is, in fact, crazy -- or worse, wrong -- will be met by extreme rudeness, profanity and vulgarity, often of a sexist or racist nature. Threatening him too much may cause him to contact an inter/national president to seek the revocation of the offending person's GLO membership. This banned type of crazy shows a particular tenacity, repeatedly creating new identities in the sincere but naive belief that other GCers will not recognize the tell-tale symptoms of earpic crazy.

As with a rabid animal, the earpic crazy is best avoided; sightings should be reported to the proper authorities.
