Jelly, in general sorority members are college students, so sororities represent a cross-section of the women you will find on a college campus. They come from different backgrounds, cultures, races, interests, majors and hometowns.
Sororities place high expecations on their members to maintain high grades and be well-rounded, so members are encouraged not only to be involved with sorority activities, but non-sorority-related organizations as well.
Sororities also place an emphasis on community service and each organization has a pet charity that they support, in addition to assiting the other organizations with the support of their own philanthropic projects.
There are social events with the fraternities and sororities throughout the year. Since they mix frequently, some people end up dating or hooking up, but the dating pool is wide open to the entire campus and many girls who have boyfriends range from having fraternity boyfriends to boyfriends who are not in a fraternity and it isn't something you are judged on or expected of. There are date parties where you can bring a date and he does not have be a fraternity member-- it could be anyone you like or want to invite.
I'm sure you will meet some snooty people in college this year; in general women join sororities because they want to make friends... I don't think being snooty fits this ideal, but I can't imagine going into a group of people and liking everyone.

So you may run into a few people you don't like. And others you love.
