Hey folks...if you want to PM each other and analyze this story, go right ahead. But posting suspicions, unflattering personal commentary and defense statements, etc. in the thread is neither necessary nor germane. Either believe what she is telling you...or don't. If you are spending more time defending your posts than making them, then I think it may be time to take a break.

I think their mother (or some other lady in the family) is a legacy to either keystone or aspen. I'm thinking aspen, but I'm not sure...... Deer Valley is out because they cut her since she wasn't a legacy.....

Yeah, aspen, some woman in the family is an aspen.

Wait, I'm confused - is the "thing" that her sister got her bid first and joined Aspen or have we not discovered the "thing" yet? I'm still betting her family is well known on the campus - like her dad's the president of the university or something. That would explain why everyone would know her business!

I haven't figured out what the "thing" is. I'm actually more shocked about the blatent rush infraction that they did to her. It boggles my mind that she was treated that way.

I'm with you who would break a PMN's heart, especially when she still has parties to go to afterwards. If you wanted to explain the situation to your friend you could do it after recruitment.

I'm guessing not only is her mom and Aspen, but either she is or was a higher-up Aspen (National Pres, VP or the like) OR there's a bunch of people in her family that were also Aspens (besides her sister).

ok, let me see if i have this right: "recruitment" is guessing that Sydney accepted a bid from Aspen. if this is true, and if the girls of Deer Valley know this, they will assume that their school's Aspen chapter will want to extend a bid. So... they tell "recruitment" that there is no way possible they can extend her a bid b/c they're way over quota, etc. and because of her situation - that she's an Aspen legacy, so DV rather not waste a bid on "recruitment" knowing if she got one from Aspen she would more likely accept it?

i'm guessing that enough people at each of the twins' respective universities are watching their every move, jus waiting to see who they accept a bid from, most likely their mother's (and possibly the twin's new) GLO.

ORRRRRRRRRRR maybe DV is the mother's GLO, the twin accepted Aspen against her wishes/desires and DV doesnt wanna cause any problems by giving "recruitment" a bid that she would take...?

hmm. but im trying to figure out how the hayle Vail fits in... it seems like "recruitment" is settling on that house, like it's her comfort house, her last resort. and it's only day two... it's written like its already bid day!

so yes, more details, and if im way off base with anything, can someone explain for me? danke!

Makes sense. Amazing how being a legacy can help and hurt your during recruitment.

Totally going out a limb here, but maybe someone in her family was an Aspen founder. Ditto for Callie & Vail (since she's SO certain). Although that would be an insane coincidence...ancestors of the founders of two orgs at the same school in the same year?!?! Oh well, it's fun considering the possibilities...

I don't think it's so much going out on a limb- when I heard Callie was "so sure" she would get into a certain chapter, I too was thinking that she was an ancestor of a founder for that chapter.

When I went through, there was a girl there that was a relative of an ADPi founder. She was actually in my Pi Chi group and I can remember thinking that she was really abbravise and just not fun to be around. She came to recruitment in clothes that, I don't know if they were too small or what, but you could see her stomach. I hate to say it, but she didn't stike me as being any type of classy.

The ADPis cut her and then she joined the org I really wanted to be in. From what I hear, she got initiated and then peaced out.

see, i thought it was just an overzealous PNM who would have her certainty crushed... but who knows, it seems like she committed a slew of rush faux-pas knowing that she had it in the bag anyway...
