Wow, I totally didn't catch that and I love that song! (Hmm, maybe Cappie's name is Jenny.)

ok maybe im weird, but has anyone wondered why it didnt appear cold/snowy in the last few episodes?? The college they attend is in Ohio..and im pretty sure when its winter in Ohio you need more than a light flannel jacket (which is what i have been seeing Cappie and Rusty sportin lately). Not to mention Frannie's skirt..no one wears a skirt in december!! they just went home for CHRISTMAS break right?? its really bugging me!!
p.s- the greek life at Cyprus Rhodes U. have the longest new member period EVERRR!!

i totally noticed both of those issues. i thought the school was in california but maybe that's just cuz it's filmed in california. that would have explained the warm weather in december... also- why are they not initiated!?!? i've been waiting for that because everyone get's initiated within the semester, right? in tri delta new members have to be initiated within a certain number of weeks from pledge ceremony. i don't remember the number. also, why wasn't rusty going to go home with casey anyway? why would he fly when his sister was going to drive? it was like it hadn't even occurred to them to ride home together.

As far as pledging goes, I know that Chi Omega at my school had to wait until spring to initiate because they had to wait for fall grades to make sure that they got the right grades. If they didn't get them, they either quit or pledged again. I don't think they were considered "pledges" again, but it was something like that. ADPi also had a pledge period that wasn't exactly set -- it lasted as long as it took the new members to pass tests. I don't know if at a certain point things would have been overlooked or if everyone just pulled it together at some point or what to make it happen or what.
Maybe they just didn't focus on Initiation. Maybe it was a plot hole? Or maybe it really will just come in the spring? Can't forget the 1st season's not over and they probably won't do things totally traditional, so that they can extend the show and keep the main characters around longer. No idea!

Before Evan and Casey got into the big fight about Cappie & the ZBZ presidency, they were going to skiing. (i wanna say they were going to Aspen, but i don't know if that is where they were going). So they were going to leave right when break started, and I doubt they wanted Rusty tagging along. So that is why Rusty was gonna fly home. (cause they supposedly live 10 hours away).

They've mentioned a few times that Cyprus-Rhodes (talk about a Greek name) is in Ohio, but the campus buildings definitely have a California look to them. According to IMDb, the show is filmed in LA and at UNC-Chapel Hill, though I can't say I've recognized any shot of Chapel Hill. (Perhaps they just went there for some second unit shots?)

Perhaps for the same reason that the Omega Chi and Kappa Tau pledge pins and, judging from the other night, badges look almost exactly alike and are worn on collars and lapels rather than in the usual spot on a shirt. Accuracy can take a hit in Hollywood.
Seriously, though, it used to be fairly common, at least on some campuses, for pledging (it was called that then) to occur in the fall and initiation to happen early in the spring semester. Apparently, judging from KDAngel's post, that still happens in some places.

For some strange reason I thought Rusty and Casey came from Chicago (can anyone verify?). If that's the case then there's no way they could be 10 hours from home if C-R is in Ohio.

You're right. They are from the Chicago area. I can't recall the specific quotes or anything, but Rusty mentions more than once that he's from the Chicago area.

Yeah, Rusty made quite a few comments about going to Chicagoland.
Maybe they're planning on a long lunch? Maybe Casey is a slow driver?

It's probably just a plot hole. A LOT of first seasons screw crap up like that because the writers want to make a certain point (like Casey having HOURS to explain what's happened), but they forget they've already given out information contrary to said point.

Or maybe the GPS isn't working, and Rusty can't read a map?

They used the exterior of the ATO house on Franklin Street (across from Morehead Planetarium) at UNC Chapel Hill.

Huh. I've always liked that house.
I don't remember seeing it in any of the episodes. Do you remember when or hwo they used it? (Or maybe they haven't yet -- next season?)

I know that the scene where Casey picks up Rusty is def. in LA, most likely near UCLA because it looks almost identical to apartment complexes in that area. Also, in the first episode when Evan confronts Rusty about not telling Casey about his "sexident" with Rebecca that was def. in front of the Psychology Building at UCLA with the fountain [I think it's Reiber Hall, last time I visited...maybe not]. But you def. see the UCLA-ness throughout the episodes.
I hope Calvin becomes a Kappa Tau that'd be awesome. As for Frannie, as convincing as a witch she was all episode, you have to admit she was kinda seductive...mmm :]
