From my chapter's website (
http://www.pitt.edu/~kdkd/joiningkd.htm)
Meet the Greeks is September 11th. Even if she decides to rush in the spring, this is a great way to get a chance to talk to girls from every group to learn more about them.
September 17th is Rushline, a mandatory pre-rush meeting to go over the rush process, etc.
First round is the 18th and 19th
8 rounds is the 20th
21st appears to be a day off
22nd is 4 rounds
23rd is pref night
and the 24th is bid night.
There are always chapters recruiting girls in the spring, however, not every house participates in spring rush, so she won't have as many choices. If she cannot participate in rush, but there are groups she is interested in, it is possible she could COB. If so, it would be best for her to either talk to any friends she has in houses, or indicate to houses that she is very interested in being a sorority but will be out of town the weekend of rush. Depending on when she is going to be away, she could try to participate in some of recruitment and would be able to meet more girls in the houses (probably can't get a bid this way). More and more houses at Pitt are pledging quota through formal recruitment and are at ceiling, and therefore don't need to COB, so her options would be more limited.
