Philanthropies

Hi ladies!!!
I was wandering if anyone had any ideas for fundraising and philanthropies that they do at their chapter. My chapter is tryign to find a fundraiser that is successful for a small campus. We are also looking for some new philanthropies to bring to our chapter. Anyone have any ideas????

Since I am a dialysis patient and on a kidney transplant list, I would like to recommend the National Foundation for Transplants (transplants.org), Donate Life America (donatelife.net) or the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org). Not sure what types of fundraisers would work on a small campus, but these are definitely some wonderful organizations.

What a coincidence! I didn't notice which forum this was in when I posted, and I have to admit not being familiar with Phi Sigma Sigma - I looked at your national website and see that you are already involved with the Transplant Games, so I was suggesting something your organization is already familiar with!

Talk to the DMV and see what you have to do to get it done. I believe that most states have Organ donation cards that can be filled out and then sent to the DMV, or have organ donor registries.

For everyone who signs up, give them something car-related, like air fresheners, bumper stickers, etc. You can create a cute logo with a heart or kidney driving a car.

If each house wants get involved, they can sponsor activities that involved "driving" - rent a driving video game unit, make little cars (like box car derby) and race them, have other sorts of "races".

Or, if a group has a philanthropy (like kidney disease, breast cancer), they can tie in their own philanthropic cause and donors (organs, bone marrow, blood, etc).

Have a Red Cross sponsored blood drive.

Just some thoughts if you wanted something different.
