A Film’s Superheroes Face Threat of Strike
LOS ANGELES — Do five or so of the greatest superheroes in the universe have the power to make a movie these days? Warner Brothers is struggling to find out.

I would like to see that one done CGI style similar to Final Fantasy VII

I really don't care for the casting when it comes to femal superheroes. It was bad enough watching Halle Berry as Storm. Some fashion model as Wonder Woman? Blech.

Would this movie (if it ever comes to fruition) benefit from having all unknowns and just one superstar (to bring in the crowds)? Or is it better to have a bunch of B-list/CW "stars"?

you need christian bale to play batman otherwise the batman movies seem out of place, likewise for superman with whoever played that. Everyone else should be relatively unknown or at least the best actor/ress for the part.

part of why they should CGI the movie, that way, all that is required is voice acting.

yeah but if they did CGI, it would be the "real" batman and superman from the other movies, and the little kids who drag their parents out to spend money on tickets, merch, etc. will turn elsewhere.

A real solution would be to treat actors and writers fairly.

Well...think of it like this...they already CGI some of these movies to death as it is....Iron Man and Superman...

And we already know that casting is an issue (Halle as Storm? WTF?...Affleck as Daredevil?)

I mena with a CGI Movie done properly (think about Beowulf too)...I think the kids are going to be more concerned the gee whiz affects of the movie than the actor...we as adults would be more concerned about the acting...just because we are...

it can be done

FFVII

Beowulf

it can be done but i oppose it because it will mean less work for actors, with even the minor supporting roles in something like that going to a big name, because the big name wants to be involved with said project but has schedulling issues (you can "film" the entire thing without ever having the actors meet each other) and then up and comers would have one less movie to be.

Not to mention the fact that Hollywood makes less than Bali, in terms of both money and in number of movies being made. Hong Kong is catching up and will pass soon, as well.

Movies, music, etc, Entertainment in general really, is one of the U.S. biggest exports. We need to be cognisent of that, and not just crank out half-assed quasi 3D version of old comic books. Even the "classic style" animation of the 80's cartoons would be better, and cheaper if they made it on computer.
