NASCAR Scene
I hope there are still a few NASCAR fans on here. I get this periodical publication called NASCAR scene, and I like reading the letter section that other fans have written. What I want to do is type the letters on here so we can chat about them. If this thread gets enough responses, I'll keep updating it with more letters, so we can chat about those too. Of course I won't post the names of the fans who are writing the letters. Also, I know I already started a thread on NASCAR, but that's for us to discuss the races. This thread is different, because we'll be chatting about other fans opinions from elsewhere.
Moderators, I'm not sure if this is against greekchat rules, but if it is, please close and/or remove this thread.
Here's the 1st letter.
Is Kyle Busch Like Earnhardt?
We were watching the rain-soaked coverage of the Auto Club 500 when it hit me. I said, "Look at the way Kyle Busch drives his car. He has the natural talent and fearlessness to move his car around at will."
I said "He reminds me of Dale Earnhardt." I then referred to a comment I first heard from Darrell Waltrip:
"Kyle Busch can go three-wide all by himself." No joke, that kid can drive beyond belief.
It was unsettling at first to dare compare Busch with Earnhardt, but the more I thought about it, and I listened to Waltrip make the comparison on more than one occaision during his broadcast on Fox, I could see why.
It's not that I am calling him the Intimidator, as no one will ever fill those shoes, but Kyle's tenacity, bravery and talent do lend themselves to a comparison with Earnhardt.

My thoughts on this 1st letter are: I would have to disagree with the writer here. I think Kyle Busch is really good and I posted how good I thought he was in the other NASCAR thread, but he is by no means to be compared to Dale Earnhardt. Period. They are two different drivers. Do I think he's better than Jr.? Yes, by far. Jr. is overrated. Jr. gets the attention he does because of his name and that's it. That dude is not his dad and he never will even come close. In fact I think Kyle will win a Sprint Cup before Jr. does.

I love NASCAR, and I was raised a Gordon fan.
That being said, I like most of the drivers, but Kyle is not one of my favorites. I feel he is too arrogant and takes after his big brother and his teammate Tony, both of which I cannot stand!
I feel he is a good driver, I have had heard him compared to a young Jeff Gordan. But I think comparing anyone to the great Dale E is just to far gone at this point in his career.

I'm a Gordon fan too. I have been since his rookie year. What I don't understand is why so many people hate him. He's not a bad guy on the track. They loved Dale Earnhardt and he used to wreck other drivers all the time.
Anyway, I'll be posting more letters from NASCAR Scene soon.
