Kappa Delta branded

Anyone see the changes that are going to be happening on the KD site? http://www.kappadelta.org/WhoWeAre/NewSite.htm

All the branding is crazy. I think it's a great idea though. The visual standards guide is intense though. Like with all the guidelines it seems really hard to follow them all and make something that should be simple. Who knows...

I do LOVE the new logo though!

okay, your title had me really really concerned that some KDs were going out and getting branded (i.e. burning a KD on themselves to form a scar)

Whew.

I got my Angelos last week, and was really excited to read about the changes. I had to attend a meeting this weekend in Ohio, and was able to use the new KD website and their new branding as an example of how organizations can stay with their core values while taking on a more contemporary look. A KD sister of mine was thrilled to see some of this as her role will be in communications and graphics design in our organization!

So do the branding changes apply to just the national site or to chapters' specific websites? I always thought it was neat to see how different chapters presented themselves online, so I'm not sure a uniform chapter site design style is such a good idea.

Yeah, I'm not really sure either. When I read ALL the details, I think there will be a place that all chapters are represented online (I know Chi-Omega does something like that now). It may just be news and pictures, or it may be a way for nationals to regulate sites. I just posted to see what other people thought or knew about it.

Just a quick crash ... that is a very pretty logo! The website is beautiful too.

Kappa went through a similar process a few years ago when our new logo and the "Tradition of Leadership" tagline was introduced. You're right, the graphic standards are really overwhelming to read. In practice it's only the communications department at HQ that follows them 100%.

So the national site it was going to change over at the end of January, but it didn't. Anyone have any idea when it's going to happen now?

I received a message that the change is suppose to be early February which to me means any day now. I thought it was going to happen over the weekend some reason, but there is no basis for my thought.

I keep checking the website every day waiting for it to change. I like the new logo. It's a little Disney-ish, but nice.

The new website is up! Still needs work from what I can see. Can't get into an exclusively sister side, so no filing cabinet with forms available yet. Hopefully things will start to come together more during the week.

Yay! Finally it's up. It's absolutely beautiful! I was worried that the stars might make it look cheesy, but it's not at all. It really has a polished look that's so elegant. Yay, KD!

It's gorgeous. Nationals is so on-point with representing everything that KD stands for with the site. I just love it! We definitely have the best NPC website hands down.

I wish I would have paid attention to that comment before I tried to get into for the past 15minutes. I tried re-registering and everything.

Ladies, just wanted to say I love your new website, but I was clicking through and saw that the Membership search is public Has yours always been public? We keep ours in a Sister's Only section.

Drolefille, thanks!

Yeah, I noticed that too. It used to be in the "sisters only" section. I tried to run a search and it didn't work so I'm thinking it's only on the open side temporarily until the bugs get worked out.
