Jeopardy Game

So...I'm trying to get everything prepared for my new member program in the fall. One of the ideas I have for chapter retreat is to do a jeopardy game in order to learn about Alpha Xi Delta. 4 Categories I've come up with are:

Iota Theta History
National Founders
National History
Fun facts

I figure Iota Theta history will be easy - I've been there for all of it except the interest group period.

National founders will be a way to learn info about them without going through the yawn-boring reading material that's available

National History will be stuff OTHER than founder specifics - Like stuff about AZD joining NPC, or stuff about Sigma Nu, etc

Fun facts is just random stuff, obviously.

I need one more category but I'm not sure what. I initially had insignia, but most of that stuff we cant discuss at retreat, and the stuff that IS appropriate can fall under fun facts.

Does anybody have any ideas for other categories, and perhaps even specific questions - for any of the categories mentioned? Thanks!

What about a "about your sisters" category asking questions (well, giving answers) about specific sisters in the chapter... those who are the answer can't participate (or make it about the exec board, etc)

26.What color are the nails and talon of the griffins supposed to be?
27.Who is supposed to be a famous Alpha Xi Delta but nations does not claim her?
28.Name one famous AXiD?
29.What do these abbreviations stand for:

Another category could be (although it has nothing to do with the sorority) school history. It is always nice to know about the school you are at.

What about either an NPC category (stuff they'll need to know for Panhellenic purposes) or a category about other orgs on your campus (ie, "This sorority's badge is in the shape of a Key" if you have KKG, etc).

Great suggestion! I didn't know very much about the NPC in general, other than what I knew from my friends who were in different sororities (and, what I'd heard from rumors) until I found GC, actually. I think that getting the chapter to think Panhellenically (especially since your campus is going through the Panhellenic process) will help them to get the "big picture."

I also like the suggestion of the "ask your sisters" category.

Sorry to crash - I think this sounds like a really neat new member education idea. I'm a teacher and use this template in my classroom all the time. It takes a while to type in all of the questions/answers, etc...but the results are awesome and it's super cute to boot! Just thought I'd share it in case you were interested:

Upon looking, that template is slightly different than the one I have used in the past. It apears some re-linking needs to be done to parts of it. I tried to find the one I've used online, but can't. If you want a template that doesn't need any work (you'll just have to errase my questions and answers) let me know and I can e-mail one of my old ones...plus you might learn something about Westward Expansion! :-P
