What an amazing game, an amazing series, an amazing season. To think, the Celtics were in all but last place just last year and now they are the NBA champs.
Good times in New England tonight. The husband is especially happy - he grew up in Charlestown and stayed local (MIT) for university. He gave up his Celtics season tickets when we got married. I think he feels just a tad happy.

That wasn't a win, that was an ass whupping!
I have to show these posters to my mom (I grew up in a family of Celtics fans and would be disowned for cheering for the Lakers)

Hopefully the gutless wonder will never, ever be compared to Michael Jordan again.

I'm still a fan of the NBA of the 80's and early 90's. (I'm not a fan of the current NBA.) So the Celtics-Lakers rivalry makes me warm and fuzzy.

By far the best part was KG hugging Bill Russell and asking "Did we make you proud?" about 9 times. Russell says yes, so KG asks the next most pressing question:
"Thank God - now you gotta tell me where to go out tonight."
Absolutely my favorite sports moment since the World Series.

also..the Lakers lost the LAST ONE they were in when they had a roster FULL of stars to Detroit
Remember...they had people like Rick Fox, Karl Malone, Robery Horry, and Gary Peyton and lost to a bunch of no names....

The Celtics were fabulous back in the 80s. Ainge, McHale, Bird....
