Straight to DVD
Blonde Ambition starring the one & only Jessica Simpson!
It looks like a cheap NY version of Legally Blonde anyway.... Luke Wilson & all.
I saw the trailer, and never heard of this movie until now, and it looks like Willie Nelson plays her dad in the movie.
Doesn't really look that interesting, but apparently she thinks she's the next Julia Roberts

I actually saw the entire film online (well, I turned it off about 2/3 through). It was simply terrible. Jessica Simpson's performances are always the same - "Jessica Simpson as....". Don't waste your money on renting it. I can't believe Luke Wilson even agreed to the script, which is awful in and of itself.
ETA - every one of her films (I think) has one or more of her songs on the soundtrack... much like everything Lindsey Lohan - another talented actress (gag) - does.

I can't stand Jessica Simpson. The next Julia Roberts? Please! She's a horrible actress!
mini-hijack: Right now she's working on a country album. The genre has a strong fan base making it extremely tough for any artist to breakthrough. I don't think the country music fanbase will be so welcoming of her. She won't have a successful tour, if even one at all, and definitely won't produce a sophomore album. Jessica, just because you're Texan doesn't mean you can go country.

I heard it was "good and terrible." I used to like Simpson until she tried to be everywhere. She can't act and her career went downhill since she and Lechey (love him! loved their show, too) broke up.
Sidebar: Why is that movie "One Missed Call" at Blockbuster already? I thought it had just come to the theater and didn't even know it was released on DVD yet. I know it's in the The Ring theme but it looked too lame to rent. Did anyone see it?

That's what I thought!
I also thought that maybe Blockbuster had a sneak copy. It's crazy. I refuse to rent it if it's bad enough to be in Blockbuster already.
ETA: Okay, I'm not going crazy. http://www.amazon.com/review/R13I6EJGX3ABR0 I guess the Blockbuster 2006 one is the Japanese original and they also have the sequel. The 2008 is supposedly a horrible remake.

it's a remake of a Japanese horror film ...just like The Eye will be a dud....we steal ideas from the Japanese and then we make them even worse.
Minimum time it takes for a film from theater to DVD release is 4 months.
matter of fact...you want something creepy on DVD....try the Devil's Backbone by Guillermo Del Toro

Yeah, I stood in Blockbuster with a confused look on my face for a few minutes. All I knew about the new movie was its release date.
Maybe I'll rent the original and its sequel this week.

The acting ability she thinks she has are not the reason why people (mainly guys) want to see her movies.

and that is probably why she wants a nude scene so she can "be taken seriously as an actress"
Seriously though... it turns out this movie was released in 8 Texas theatres for awhile, and it grossed about $1200. Which a few websites said it was about $50 per theatre per day, which comes out to about 6 people watching it in each location each day.
and ditto to what SATX said about country music....

I don't know... I think Jessica might have a few fans in country music. If she did another Pizza Hut-style commercial to promote her CD, she might boost her record sales. Every guy I know LOVED that commercial, and that pizza sold really, really well.

I didn't know what movie they were talking about but now I know. Hilarious! She and her father (now he's a DIFFERENT story!) need to just hang it up.
