Is this a work retreat (i.e. to prepare for rush) or just a fun bonding retreat?

Retreat!!!!

This is a bonding retreat
last year we did
- community service one day
- clean up the house
- helped the freshman move in (of course were wearing our letters)
- lock in at the house!!! (so called move night...)
- non-alcoholic
- 60 girls

I think we need more bonding time instead of just keepin us busy for a weekend. Most of the girls complain about it being non-alcoholic and the lock in, therefore not being able to see anyone that weekend (including our brother fraternity Mace)! It is the weekend before school starts. Our advisor does the planing and everything but now The president and vice president are planing it! we need help!

Does it have to be non-alcoholic? I mean, is there a point behind it? Most of the times when things are non-alcoholic it's because ritual is involved or you have work to do.

(and everyone, this is NOT an NPC sorority, so don't get your panties in a bunch about the alcohol factor)

Also, if at all possible, it sounds like it would be better to do this sort of thing midway through the summer, rather than right before everyone is coming back to school. I guess I don't understand the point of a retreat when you're all going to see each other in a week anyway.

One thing that my sorority does at retreats is play "family feud." Grandbigs, bigs, and littles form teams and play against other families. Before you play the game each girl needs to fill out a questionaire that has general questions like "sister most likely to be wearing letters" or "sister most likely to be seen at the quad"

Its a lot of fun!!!

Another fun activity is that everyone puts their name in a bowl/envelope/whatever and people pick a name out of it. Then you create a collage out of old magazines representative of that the sisters name you picked.

Hope that helps!

Ahh! That's such a cute idea! I will have to see if my sisters still have the votes from our Formal superlatives!!

you could always do arts and crafts things, that way, you can be together and each girl gets something to take home!

How "morally clean" does it have to be?

My chapter did this thing where everyone brought some sexy lingerie and people guessed who owns it. It was very revealing because the younger members had PJ's and toned down stuff, while the elder members had the strings...

OR

Another one to really get to know each other: say we are all going on a cruise, and on this cruise you can only bring 2 items... The key is to figure out how to play the game... So if they fail to bring the "appropriate" items, they aren't allowed on the cruise... It is funny went people you know bring the incorrect items.

Test: How do you play this game...

So let's just say I am AKA Monet... Everyone knows me... So for me to go on the cruise of a lifetime, I will bring Apples and Money because that's what I think I will need to bring on the cruise...

Do you think you can go this cruise with me? And what 2 items would you bring? PM me if you understand...
