Pledge classes
My chapter doesn't keep track of what pledge class has come through the house, ie gamma class, phi class etc. A friend of mine wants to know if it starts over at Alpha alpha, or Alpha beta

I agree with mmcat.
And why did you post this question in multiple forums?
To answer your question, my chapter had an Alpha Alpha class before we had an Alpha Beta.

I think this question probably belongs in Greek Life and will move it there.

We just called them Fall 99, Spring 00, whatever...we didn't go by greek letters.
But yes, I would say it starts over at Alpha Alpha.

Check with your nationals to see if there is any policy regarding naming your classes by Greek Letter, name or symbol, etc. If you are a local, you can talk to past members or decide as a chapter to create your own unique system! As long as you aren't violating any laws or GLO policies, you're good to go
I would agree with 33girl-- if you are tracking your classes in Greek Letter order, then after Omega, you start again at Alpha Alpha.
* ADPi doesn't track new member classes by Greek Letter, but we will recall our new member classes as "Alpha Class of 2002, Alpha Class of 2003," etc.

APO names its pledge classes for distinguished alumni. Fall pledge class gets a national namesake, spring pledge classes have a local namesake. I was a member of the Earle Herbert pledge class.
More info about APO pledge class namesakes here.

pledge classes
I posted it in several places because I didn't know where the best place to post would be. Again this isn't my fraternity it is a sorority that is having the problem. They have pinning tonight and they don't want to call them the wrong class. My fraternity also used the Fall 2000, Spring 2001 pledge class names.

I think the easiest thing to do is remember what they called last semester's class and add one to that

I would start over with Alpha Alpha, although we aren't allowed to give our classes greek letters, or even call them classes, they're supposed to be "initiation groups".

My chapter went through the alphabet, and then began designating new member classes as our International organization designates chapters...so the first chapter after Omega was Delta Alpha....after Delta Omega, we would have Phi Alpha....after Phi Omega, we would have Epsilon Alpha...after Epsilon Omega, we would start then at Alpha and skip the Delta Phi and Epsilon during the rest of the alphabet.
Makes sense They just had their Delta Eta class I think.

we don't use double letters i.e. there is no Alpha Alpha chapter, so this means no Alpha Alpha pledge class...it would go Omega, then Alpha Beta

Both Sigma and Kappa Phi keep track of classes by semester and year. In Kappa Phi, I'm a Fall 2002 and in Sigma I'm a Spring 2004.

In addition to pledge class namesakes (We call them dedications) my chapter of APO also numbers our lines. The Spring '99 line is Line 87, dedicated to Carla Lara. (A Brother who passed away.)
The current line is Pledgeline 99, dedicated to Vidal Perez (the linemate of Carla Lara who also passed away).

LXA Associate Classes go by The Greek Alphabet as Our Chapters do.
Alpha, then from single to Alpha-Beta, Etc.
The whole problem is, it is many times not just on the Local Chapter Level, but at HQ Level also.
History and the paper work that covers it get lost in moves, suspensions or De-Chartering!
Modern Tech has helped a lot, but digging up those figures to get them data based is tuff!
