Don't be showing me stuff like this when I'm trying to diet, you skinny biotch!!! (just kidding, sweetie )
I'd always thought Fairmont was on the map because Mary Lou Retton is from there. Now I know it's all about the pepperoni roll!

Interesting...so they're actually good? I didn't realize conches were so common in Florida (like enough to make fritters out of them)

Conch Fritters
2 med. conch, clean & remove skin ½ small sweet pepper
1 small onion
1 stalk celery
1 egg
1 cup milk
2 T. tomato paste
1 t. baking powder
1-1/4 cups flour
1 t. hot sauce
1 t. salt
NOTE: Where conch is not available you can substitute lobster.
Put conch, sweet pepper, onion & celery through a meat grinder. Add remaining ingredients to make a batter. Drop batter by tablespoon into hot oil and fry for approx. 10 min. or until golden.
Serve with cocktail sauce: ½ c. ketchup, ½ t. horseradish, 1 t. hot sauce, mix & serve.

They're really good. And they're just as common as lobster. I like mine with mustard or hot sauce and salt with a lil'ranch.

Mmmm...a Florida favorite. I always get them as an appetizer when I go to a seafood place. (btw, I <3 Joe's Crab Shack!)
