Can any one tell me if you can engrave platinium? Like putting initials or a date on a locket or ring?

It's my understanding that you can. My fiance and I have been looking at platinum wedding bands and we were told we could get something engraved on the inside.

Def. My engagement ring is platinum with engraving from my hubby and both our wedding bands are platinum with engraving inside them. Best kind of metal to get. Will withstand a ton of stuff....
