Can any one tell me if you can engrave platinium? Like putting initials or a date on a locket or ring?

It's my understanding that you can. My fiance and I have been looking at platinum wedding bands and we were told we could get something engraved on the inside. :)

Def. My engagement ring is platinum with engraving from my hubby and both our wedding bands are platinum with engraving inside them. Best kind of metal to get. Will withstand a ton of stuff.... :)
