Big/Little help?

Normally I wouldn't be all floopy about this...but it's been kinda difficult.

It's been a really busy night. We have a new pledge class, who just chose their Big Sis's. Actives chose their Littles tonight.

Background: I have a little that I took in fall and I absolutely love her. I fell in love with her the moment I met her.

Now, for this class, I am financially unable to take a little...as in I have about $55 in my bank account...and that's dealing with school and such. Our New Member coordinator and Chapter President called me tonight late and asked me about my status and if it was possible if I could take a Little. There was a new girl who put me as her number one.

I called my little and asked her what she thought. I could tell her heart sank and I feel so horrible. But no one else would take this girl...I have no idea why. She's incredibly sweet and so funny. I don;t know if she quite fits in with our family, but she needs a mentor to pull her out of her shell and I think I can do that and my Big Sis can help too. She's kind of awkward but I think we will get along.

I feel like I'm betraying my first little by taking this other. I love my first little so very much. I don't want her to feel shunned like I did (my Big had a Little before me and I was a little jealous of her).

Any suggestions for this?
