My Informal Rush Thread

Hey all...I posted a lot on here over the summer when I thought I would be doing rush, then at the last minute I changed my mind.

Well...I've decided to go ahead with informal. I was really nervous going into this year, I had committed myself to so much: student government and working with the athletic department. But after talking with friends in houses, I decided I really wanted to do it. We have an informational meeting on Jan. 21st and Bid Day is February 12th. The informational meeting will just let all the PNM's know who is seeking new members.

I will be posting all my experiences on here, and if you have lj, I will be posting there too.

My lj is http://www.livejournal.com/users/shealaghw. Leave me a comment on one of the previous entries (I made the blog private) and I will add you

PS: I am a sophomore at Washington State University (GO COUGS! 2003 Holiday Bowl Champs WHUT WHUT!)

Well, justagirl, it sounds as if you're really ready this time around! Do you know which houses will be participating this term yet?

And of course, good luck, and may you get into a house which you love!!

Good luck! I wish you the best of luck in informal recruitment. I am a WSU Alum and loved being a part of the Greek System.

Did you go to the Holiday Bowl? It was AWESOME! So nice to see the Cougs pull it off! (Does not happen much )

thanks for the good wishes everyone and i'm happy to be back too! i'm a little less nervous going into informal, just because i've really gotten my bearings and i have a good feel for which houses i like and would mesh well with, and which ones would be a not so good fit.

i'm not sure who all is going to have informal, they announce at the meeting, but just based on my friends in various houses, i know at least agd's, aphi's, kappa's and pi phi's will. it's doubtful if theta's will because they always get quota during fall and very few of their women drop, our adpi's don't usually get quota so they will probably participate too.

anywho, i will post more regularly hope everyone had (or has depending on when your break ends) a wonderful break, a happy new year and a happy (insert holiday here)!

You might want to double check with Pi Phi. WA Beta is above campus total and made quota plus during formal rush this year, (though they did lose 30+ seniors last year). I know they did spring informal last year, but only to fill space for Dec. graduating seniors. The same is true for Kappa, they are the largest chapter at Pullman. I would also double check Theta if both Pi Phi and Kappa are participating in informal. Theta is at total and did make quota, but they are smaller than Kappa, KD, Pi Phi and possibly DG. I would think if the others are participating, Theta would have a few spots available.

Nonetheless, I wish you the best and am happy you have decided to rush! Good Luck!
