Problems as a Student Supervisor
Hi GCers,
I have been having a problem lately with some of the students that I supervise at my job. I work at one of the cafeteria's on my campus. About six of the students that I supervise are really lazy and do not want to work and whenever I ask them to do something they get an attitude and want to call me a "B". An incident that happened today was one student who was suppose to be working in the dinning area was standing near the ice cream machine looking at a magazine. I took the magazine off the counter after she left to go check on the ketchup machine. Then when she came back she told another student worker that I was a "B" for taking the magazine which was not even her's it was one of the cook's magazines. I could have written her up, no all I did was take the magazine and I did not even say anything to her.
I feel like they don't respect me as a supervisor and I feel as though I should not have to tell young adults who are in their 20's how to work. By now they should have some kind of work ethics.
I don't know what should I do, I've talked with the managers about this? And they just said to keep doing what I'm doing.
