Depledging and going through recruitment the second time

Hey everyone! I know the topic of depledging and going through recruitment a second time comes up a lot as girls find out they haven't found the place for them or can't give the commitment that's required. I fall under the second category and just couldn't give the commitment with class-load and with other family issues. I decided to depledge, which I knew at the time I wasn't 100% about my decision. As the next semester approaches I'm thinking about going out for the same sorority I left the previous semester. Is this a good idea? What are the chances they won't take me the second time around? Those are all worries for me.

You'll want to talk to your friends there. In advance. I wouldn't just show up, Surprise! and expect to be greeted with open arms. They may understand, they may not.

What's changed since last time? Did you drop other activities? Decide to take a lighter course load? The chapter may want to hear why you feel you can commit now.

Do you have friends in that sorority whom you can talk to?

This isn't the popular answer, but you can kind of gauge whether they'd take you back based on how receptive they are of you now.

If they really don't talk to you and haven't since you depledged, they may not be all that interested.
