Payments for Fraternity Housing

Does anybody have insight on a Form that can be used to ensure that leftover student aid/scholarship money is held for or directed straight to the fraternity for house bills.

If anyone has information or access to a form like this and is willing to share I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

-Bill

I would think something like that would be handled by the Financial Aid office. If not, I'd contact your organization's legal counsel to see if there's something in existence.

I checked with the Office of Financial Aid and they told us that we needed to generate the form, have our actives sign it, and then bring it in to them. I was hoping to find that a chapter somewhere out there had one in existence that I could "borrow" to draft one for our chapter.

I see.

If you do find something, I'd still recommend running it by your legal counsel (since it will be a contract).

Good luck.

I think your national organization should be generating this. Check with your Council VP:Finance or whomever is over housing and finance.

Thanks for the insight. Unfortunately our National does not have this form on hand because every university follows different standards. I suppose I could write it into the original house contract as another option for payment or make a separate form all together and run it by a lawyer.

Ask the university if they have an example they could share with you? Ask the other houses on campus?
Otherwise, find out what information needs to be on the form per your university, put that on the form along anything else YOU think should be there and send it to DTD legal/your advisors/etc.
