Division in America

Hey y'all, what do you y'all think about this topic? Do you think division among folks in this country is centered around race or class? (As in socioeconomic status or race)

I look at it more along the lines of privilege and oppression, which can involve race, class, and a whole lot more.

^^^Ditto. IMO America is divided on so many fronts, the lines look like a rubber band ball.

I think it's between people who like blue cheese dressing and people who do not.

I think the issue is still based on race, and that alone. A black dude can have money, his own business, be intelligent, have power, etc. and the same white dude who he thinks he's on the same level as will call him a "nigga" in a minute. We are still not looked at as being as equal as white folks.

Meh. There are some people like that, but they are slowly dying off. The black dude has money, his own business, intelligence and power. He is winning whether the idiot that wants to call him the N word wants to admit it or not.

I feel you, and your post makes sense. But the part that I don't agree with is the part about it "dying off". It isn't.

Well I'm glad to hear that the discrimination of people based on sexual orientation, gender, race ('cept blacks), religion, income, disability, and _____ has finally ended in America!

With that overly simplistic one sided "my perceived problems are the only ones that matter" line of thought I don't see the issue of "Division in America" ever going away.
