How do I convey that I am serious about my grades during rush?

I will be rushing as a sophomore this fall at Florida State and my GPA is decent, but not outstanding (I currently have a 3.11.) I feel like the odds are against me since I will be rushing as an upperclassman and I don't have a fantastic GPA. My freshman year was a big adjustment for me and now that I know what is expected of me academically I am determined to do better in my classes and raise my GPA. How do I let the houses know this? Should I slip it in during the conversations that I have?

You could ask them about study hours-if they have them, who does them, and where they are done.

It's not going to make a difference. The best way to show you are serious about academics is to have good grades. Probably not the answer you wanted to hear.

my grades are not super amazing either fsugirl. I hope we both find a home! Hopefully I can make it past the first cut and have some great conversations.

FSUZeta's suggestion is great. It will be easy and natural to convey that while talking about study hours.

I will be keeping you in my thoughts! I hope that everything works out well for you. Are you rushing as an upperclassman at Florida State too?
