Do sororities go on trips together?
I really want to travel more while in college. If I can't study abroad I would at least like to go on trips anywhere in the U.S. I am just curious to know if there are sororities known for taking trips occasionally through out the year. Plus I feel like it would be a fun bonding experience!

This varies from school to school, and from chapter to chapter.
There are no "travel sororities" in existence.

If you go to a school with a large OOS population, you could end up traveling to see sisters over breaks. Actual traveling as a group would be limited to if the GLO does conventions/leadership training events on a large scale, possible fraternity away weekends, formals, etc; like most things, it depends on the specifics of the group, the school, and that particular culture.

Maybe you should join a club if travel is what you're looking for.

No thats not what i am only looking for. I want to join a sorority for many reasons. I was just curious to know if sororities too plan trips for bonding.

some chapters hold sisterhood retreats, where the chapter might go away for the weekend, or part of the weekend-they ordinarily charter buses(for liability reasons).
During school breaks groups of sisters might take a trip together. Sometimes groups of friends within the chapter will go on a cruise, or skiing, or on to the beach-sometimes they organize if by pledge class. These are strictly voluntary and are organized by individuals, they are not "Official" sorority trips.

Thank you! I figured that sororities don't do trips nationally, but it would be nice to just get ideas if I get a bid into a sorority so I can suggest things to do and places to go to get to know everyone better.

Why do you need a sorority to travel? Why not just travel?

I don't need a sorority to travel of course. I do that anyway. I just want to do things with a group of people and build closer bonds.

I think that you need to take a step back. Unless you were a world-class expert on something with knowledge/experience with something that a lot of people would flock to and want your feedback on, I would hold off on planning to educate and encourage members of a sorority I was pledging until I was a member - and an experienced one at that.
Chances are, the chapters on your campus have programming in place to help new members and existing members "bond". In addition, the very process of becoming a new member (and subsequently, an active member) should provide lots of opportunities to get to know each other.
After becoming a member, you can join committees or run for an executive board position and then make suggestions (every sorority is different, so terms and formal positions for this type of role may vary). But until then, you might hold off on trying to find ways for the chapter to "bond".
