Why you should read my re-rush story!

To sum it up, I was released last year after round two. But this year, I decided to try again and see what would happen this time.

On Thursday night, we met our Rho Gammas, and I loved them. I actually knew what both of them were because I met them last year in two different rounds (OOPS), but don't worry I kept my mouth shut about it. I was laughing inside my head when girls kept guessing the wrong sorority. I really liked the girls in my group too, I actually liked them better than last years group haha.

SOOOO the first night of rounds came!

So last year I used Disney Channel Shows for the sororities, and so I'm going to change them to ABC Family shows (just so I could completely switch everything up).

In this order we saw:
Secret Life of the American Teenager
Greek
Pretty Little Liars
Nine Live of Chloe King
The Lying Game

Secret Life-So I have two friends in this sorority. I'm pretty close with them actually too. During the first week of school, I hung out with a couple of Secret Life's because of my friend. She hated the rule how she's not supposed to be hanging out with PNMs, haha she didn't care at all so I got to spend time with her regardless. :P I know that sounds bad, but they didn't get in trouble at all. Anyway, I LOVED this house. They were considered a lower tier sorority, but who cares since tiers are stupid. I thought they were awesome! I clicked with several girls I talked to...they were easy going and not intimidating AT ALL. Also, my two friends came over and said a quick hi to me as I was talking to other girls. The girls were impressed that I had friends in here. And by impressed, haha I mean happy/thrilled. This was a big favorite, and I was pretty confident they were going to invite me back.

Greek-This was a house I did not really give a chance to express themselves last year. I thought they were awkward last year, but I was thinking it was only awkward because I most likely made it awkward. I knew one girl in this house, and she's really friendly too! I went in with a positive attitude about this house and ready to get to know them. I really liked all the girls I talked to. The conversations weren't forced, and they were always smiling. They were so friendly. I got to talk to three girls, and they were so cute. I loved the friendly faces of this sorority, and I hoped to see them again the next day.

Pretty Little Liars-So this house is known as the top tier and the "hott" chapter at my school. I talked to three girls. When I talked to the first girl, it was actually a girl I know and liked. We have classes together and we usually talk in them. It was nice to hear her thoughts on her sorority. I talked to her almost the whole entire round, but several girls came over and talked to me along with her. Basically the girls came and went. We had a pretty good conversation and she really loved her sorority. I knew this wasn't the place for me. They are a great house that gets involved within the community, but I don't want to be part of this sisterhood (I was only being realistic here). I knew this house was going to drop me, but I mean if they invite me back, then I'll be very surprised... and I'll always give them another chance.

Nine Live of Chloe King-This was one of my absolute favorites last year! I have a really good friend in this sorority and I know a couple of other girls in this sorority as well. They are so cute and they have a great sisterhood! I got to talk to a lot of different girls here. I still really like this house, and I hope I get invited back again!

The Lying Game-This house was ok. I didn't feel very comfortable here. This house was another top tier, but I looked beyond that because they had so much to offer, and their set up and theme was SOO CUTE. I talked to four girls. I cant really remember the conversations with the girls because they weren't that great. They weren't awkward, but they were forced and I didn't like myself here...or at least couldn't be myself. For some reason, I liked them better than Pretty Little Liars. If I didn't get invited back, then I would be ok.

When it was time to go to the computer lab, we had to rank our top four favorites, mine were the following, in no particular order:

1. Nine Lives of Chloe King
2. Secret Life
3. Lying Game
4. Greek

I ranked Pretty Little Liars as my "maybe"

Rush infractions really are not something to blow off, in the case of the actives at least. If you ever become an active, please don't take stuff like this lightly. Looking forward to hearing the rest!

Ok so it is Day two and I was pretty nervous to get my schedule back. The Rho Gammas started calling out our slips:


I only got invited back to Secret Life and Greek. I was panicking inside thinking oh no...this is horrible I'm going to get released AGAIN! I immediately talked to my Rho Gamma about my schedule and she told me it was going to be ok. She told me that only a couple girls in the group got full schedules, and there was a reason that I got invited back to these two. She was so nice and helpful and really encouraged me to be positive. I won't lie I wasn't expecting to get cut that hard, but I got over it and shook it off. Last year, I did get a full schedule though. Whatever, I accepted it and made my visits to Greek and Secret Life.

I saw [COLOR="rgb(255, 0, 255)"]Greek[/COLOR] first.

[COLOR="rgb(255, 0, 255)"]Greek[/COLOR]- I really liked their philanthropy! The girls were extremely passionate about their philanthropy, and their speech really touched me. I talked to about four girls, and the conversations WERE NOT awkward! They made me laugh at some points. I was feeling good and comfortable here. I asked a lot of questions about their philanthropy, and any other things related to the sorority. I think it was a good thing to ask the questions because it definitely made me seem interested. They were still easy to talk to, and so I hope they would invite me back again.

Secret Life- I LOVED how they decorated the room for their philanthropy round. It was a horse race theme, and I just love horses and going to horse races as well. They were all wearing sundresses, and I was like oh my god I love this haha! I talked to one girl and she was so sweet. We first started the conversation of me obsessing over their theme and classes/school stuff. After all of that stuff, we got to talk more about the sorority and their philanthropy. They played a very well put together slideshow, and my girl was telling me bits and pieces of what the philanthropy means to her. These girls get really involved within the community, and I love every bit of it! I'm praying I get to go back here as well.

I listed my favorites in no order:
1. Greek
2. Secret Life

I'm praying in general that both houses invite me back. The max we get to see is three, but hopefully I get to see both. After this round is where I got released last year, and so I was ungodly nervous and tried not to think about that dreadful phone call.

I had two hours before the next round, and I was a shaky nervous mess. I decided to listen to some music to distract me from even thinking about getting that terrible phone call! I did not get a phone before round three, and lots of weight was lifted off my shoulders!! I was so happy!!

So round three comes along and i get my schedule back and Greek and Secret Life invited me back again!!! AHHH I was sooo happy and relieved. I made it further than last year, and I was so excited to be going back to two sororities I loved.

I saw Greek first again in this round.

Greek- The theme of the room was adorable (Vegas Style)! I talked to around 3-4 girls and they were still really cute. I was still comfortable here and the conversations were great and not forced! They love their sisterhood and I'm so happy that being open minded and truly being myself really helped me here. I hoped to see them at Pref round! I would be happy here

Secret Life- So basically I just fell in love with this sorority, and this was my top choice after round three. I talked to one girl I had met I had met from the first round and I LOVED her. The sister put on a nice slideshow, and my rusher basically explained all of the pictures to me. I really liked the theme of their room too (New Orleans), and the VP of Recruitment came over and talked to me as well. It felt at home here, and I was really hoping I could pref them the next day!

Oh and by the way, we had to rank two sororities. Since I only had two left, haha that was an easy choice for me.

Ok, so I had a hard time going to bed during the evening because I could be preffing or not be preffing the next morning. I went on facebook to distract myself for a bit, and then tried to go to bed. At 12:30 am, my phone rings. I screamed NOOOOOOOOO and looked at my phone in terror, but IT WASN'T MY RHO GAMMA!!! It was only my friend, and I yelled at her for scaring the crap out of me!! She told me she got some bad news and was released from rush (It was also her second time going through) My heart was deeply broken for her. I waited until 1:30 am, and I did not receive a phone call, and finally went to sleep.


Sooo pref morning....I was a bit scared about my list, but I was seriously hoping Secret Life was on it! I loved them, but I also really liked Greek as well!

My Rho Gamma gave me my list with a big smile, and there I saw Secret Life and Greek on my list!! I can't believe these two really saw something in me the whole entire time! I was so happy that I had made it this far, and I knew that I was most likely guaranteed bid (well hopefully).

I saw Secret Life first.

[COLOR="rgb(46, 139, 87)"]Secret Life[/COLOR]- The room was so nicely decorated and the girls had dressed elegant/classy as ever! My really good friend in this sorority was the one that preffed me. I was really happy she preffed me because we did not get to talk that much during the whole weekend, and we got to catch up with each other. She told me how badly she wanted me to become a Secret Life, but she said she would also respect my choice and it was my decision. She told me she just wanted me to be in a sorority this year, no matter what the letters were. The ceremony was beautiful and the girls made toasts (don't worry they used apple cider hehe) to the ones they preffed. I knew this is where I wanted to be, and I wasn't basing my decision on my friend, but I knew this was the perfect fit for me!

Greek- I enjoyed the Pref ceremony here as well, but they didn't decorate the room really..they just had lights on the floor basically, but it still had that nice intimate setting. The girl who preffed me was a girl I did not get to meet during the weekend, but she told me she had heard really good things about me and read out a personal letter to me. It was really sweet! The ceremony was very moving here...a little tear came out of my eye. I really liked it, but I liked Secret Life just a tiny bit better. I would still be happy here if I got a bid.

When it was time to sign our preference card I ranked the following:

I only had to wait about 2 hours because bid day was within the same day!

And during those two long hours, I spent some time with my friend who got released, gave her a big hug, and we talked for a bit. It made her feel better that she knew I cared about her so much. I told her no matter where I go, I want to invite her to some events so she can experience my happiness. She told me she would have loved that.

Ahhhhhh SOOOO IT IS BID DAY!!!!

We couldn't get our bids until 4:30, and we couldn't run to our chapters until 7 because the rain pushed things back and the sororities had to get ready in a room inside our student center. Our group was the first group to receive to receive bids (prolly because we were always last to go rank)

I go into the room where the bids were, and I opened my up bid which said..........



















SECRET LIFE!!!!!!!!

I am so happy that the second time was the charm, and I would like to say that all the advice on here really works and helped me have a successful recruitment!!
