Things people do that annoy you

This is an offshoot of 'words that annoy you' thread. I read through that thread and laughed at most of it. I get bothered by some of the same things so I didn't respond. What bothers me had already been mentioned.

In this thread we're not going to discuss what folks say that bother you, but more about what people do that bother you.

Question: What are some of the things that people do that make you mad or annoy you?

Impatient people get under my skin. People who rush other people because they planned their day wrong or didn't utilize their time right. But then make it my fault.

People who are more than 5 minutes late without a good reason. Punctuality is, imo, one of the most important personality traits a person can have.

Obviously, this does not apply to different cultures where the norms are different.

People who bring outside food into the movie theater, like McDonalds, Burger King, etc.

People who talk in the movie theater while the movie is in session.

People who bring babies into the movie theater. That's really, really annoying.

People who text or use their cell phone while driving or in the movie theater.

THIS. Lateness is a sign of disrespect.

People smacking gum, screaming children (in public), and people sucking their teeth really annoy me. In general loud, obnoxious people annoy me.

Thanks for that YT. Just listening to the kind of foul language she uses shows how stupid and ignorant she is. It's ignorant people like her that cause issues in the theater.

People who can't drive worth a damn. i.e. Michigan drivers.
People who are/act ghetto as hell.
Womanizing, irresponsible men. Young men/boys who wear their pants sagging; provocatively dressed women etc. Lazy people. That's pretty much it.

Haha, I am from NW Ohio, we always would say that the idiot drivers must have learned how to drive in Michigan. Michigan drivers probably say the same regarding Ohio drivers.

Can't stand people eating with their mouths open. Or talking with their mouths full of food. And then there are those who, even if they eat with their mouths closed, it's like they have microphones in their cheeks, they make so much noise eating.

OK, one more-those who can't use their utensils properly, like someone fisting their spoon, and they are not a toddler. Which reminds me- Jeffrey Steingarten on Iron Chef makes me nuts sometimes-fists his spoon, slurps, talks with his mouth full of food, and has even drooled as he was talking. Ick.

Let's just say my kids learned table manners at an early age. They are now afflicted with the same table issues, poor girls.

I'm late for everything

Well, ok.. I wouldn't say EVERYTHING.. I'm on time for work, interviews, important meetings, etc. Or.. if I'm meeting only one friend, I try to make sure I'm a few minutes early. However, if I'm meeting a bunch of people in an informal setting, I'm pretty much always late. I find myself rushing around more than I'd like, even in those situations when I'm on time. I think that has to do with not planning for anything in my life I just wing it.

Speaking of this... I can't stand when people bring full meals onto a plane. Well, I take that back.. it's ok, but not when it's some strong-smelling food that EVERYONE around clearly can't stand to deal with in a closed, confined space.

I've brought subs onto a plane before (I've traveled so much for work that there are definitely those times when you don't have time to stop and eat, so I understand).. However, I'll get something like turkey with lettuce and tomato... never strong-smelling meats, onions, strange spreads or strong cheeses.

Some people clearly don't think the way I do.

And speaking of planes... I hate when everyone stands up all at once the second the plane lands. Chill out. Take a seat. You're not going anywhere for a few minutes.

I'm going to throw Connecticut drivers in here. They're the WORST! There are actually signs on the highways pointing out that the left lane is for passing, but apparently no one reads them. A person will drive at 50 mph in that lane, with a huge line of cars behind them, and they'll never move over. Drives me CRAZY.

If you want to move quickly in CT, stay to the right.. and be prepared to weave in and out of traffic.

lol!!
I am laughing so hard at what's in bold. Hilarious! Yep, I hear ya. But my biggest issue with people bringing food into the movies is the noise it makes when they're opening the bag etc. It's just that when they start eating it, I can hear it, and that really bugs me. I just think it's really tacky.

Not to double post, but I forgot the declined credit/debit card one. I get impatient when I'm standing in line and there's someone in front of me pulling out a million credit/debit cards and each one keeps declining. I'm like, seriously? And then they go "Hm, that's weird, I know the money is in there." That's annoying because they're holding the line up and people have places they have to be.

Going along with the previous driving ports...it drives me crazy when people don't use their turning signals!! For me, I need to know the intentions of the drivers around me! I hate when drivers slow down to turn, don't use their signals, and turn...cause the entire time I'm thinking "what the hell are you slowing down for!"

Drivers here in Atlanta think that if they use their turning signal, that's giving them permission to get right infront of you and cut you off or make you slam on your brakes. That really pisses me off too!

People who walk at the pace of a turtle when you have places to go, especially when you're in a hurry.

People who randomly stop in the middle of a hallway/street/path when you are in a hurry to get somewhere.

People who can't drive.

People who can't take a joke (ie: are serious 24/7).

People who brag about how sh*tfaced/wasted they got last night (Ya, big deal. I had 4 beers last night and you don't hear me telling everyone and trying to act cool).

People that say the word "like" 27 times in a single sentence.

People who hold up the line and take 5 minutes to decide what they want to eat in the cafeteria/food place on campus.

I lived in Ohio for a few years, and they drive much better in Ohio than they do here. If I ever heard anyone from Michigan talking about Ohio drivers I'd laugh. Michigan drivers can't afford to talk about driving at all because they are by far the worst drivers ever. Doing 30 in a 50 mph zone. That makes me so mad. And this is every day, about 4 to 5 times a day. I'm not exaggerating, it really is. I'm generally a very patient, calm person but the way they drive here gets me, and it gets me very upset. I get upset because there's nothing I can do about it. I have no driving patience for these folks here. I'm getting mad posting about it.

Live in Michigan for a month and you'll want to move back to CT. They drive slow every day and all over, not just in the passing lane. And then when they merge into traffic, getting on the freeway, they do about 40 mph going onto the freeway while most folks (on the freeway) are doing about 60... still 10 mph below the speed limit. If Toyota had a tech center in MN. I'd move back home. It's that bad, and it's so frustrating. I'm really getting tired of this broke, non-driving state. I really am.

Sounds like old people. The Rust Belt is jam-packed with them. Everyone else left, which makes the ratio of old people much higher in these states.

Old people, in addition to driving really slow, they do this thing where they start driving even slower...like from 20 to 10...and then they come to a complete stop...and then they turn. With no turn signal the entire time! THAT drives me crazy.

I'm guilty of passing people on a double yellow line in more rural areas. That's bad, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for Grandma to drive 20 miles per hour in a 55 zone!
