Know Your Documents!!! I Mean Diamonds!!!
Apparently, there has been an extreme miseducation regarding some levels of purchasing exquisite rings for loved ones... So, it is better to have the access to knowledge and make an informed decision since you or your hunny will be layin' out some bucks, if you are so well endowed during this season... (Here comes my seasonal depression).
Diamonds: They are NOT forever!!! That is one the biggest BS lies that DeBeers Corp puts out. Diamonds are one the most abundance "rocks" on planet Earth. How many are Gemstone quality? Well, that is up for contention--Because it is DeBeers who decides what's gemstone quality and what's not... Crafty SOB's aren't they...
And don't let me go into how the "family" did all this "crap"... That's when you get a revolutionary stance and realize the world ain't all what it is cracked up to be... All I will tell you it has something to do with Apartheid, Zimbabwe (Rhodesia), Cecil B. Rhodes-as in Rhodes scholar, Nobel--as in Nobel Laureate, Oppenheimer and Mr. DeBeers. The only other groups just as crafty, if not craftier, are Mr. Shell, Mr. ChevronTexaco and Mr. Phillip H. Morris... NO ONE WILL EVER LET YOU KNOW. All I can say, is Yurugu-in' ain't easy... Know thyself...
Secondly, if you still desire a diamond after all that has been shown to you, then maybe you want to reconsider its source... The land that it came from and who dug it up. The Untied States/Canadida have diamond mines... As well as a huge mines in Russia and Austrialia. Those diamonds are not considered "conflict"--but, are they gemstone quality? Probably dedicated not to be. Why? 'Cuz diamonds make excellent weapons... Ever heard of Laser targeting from a Satellite? Hmmmm, wonder how is that done? Engineering folks know... The things has to be focussed somehow... Kolor, Klarity and Kut--okay, nuff said! Also, diamonds are only the strongest substance on Earth. Yes, it takes a diamond to cut a diamond... Besides, you make more money selling weapons-grade diamonds than you do gemstones. Folks ain't willin' to PAY for a $25,000 quarter carat diamond... So... And even that is an inflated price--Supply is equal to the Demand. But since DeBeers is an International Monopoly, the Untied States, cain't say chit to 'em... Folks ARE bought and paid for by DeBeers. NOBODY fights, unless DeBeers sez they do... Satellites don't have to work, you know...
Another thing, white and yellow diamonds are the most abundant diamonds. Why do you THINK all the rings are sold off as white? That's why I would opt for a colored diamond... Diamonds come in all colors. Red being the rarest. Colored stones are becoming popular, but they are NOT for the average consumer--An Argyle Pink, half carat costs close to $10,000 US... But, your sanity and conscience will be clear if you make the investment... Moreover, that was a deal made between the Austrialians and DeBeers, DeBeers can embargo your chit before you know it, so the Aussies had to let them have the white/yellow diamonds, including the weapons-grade, but kept the other colors to sell. DeBeers makes it hard on a brutha to sell a diamond...
And in the true Afrikan Centered spirit, the Wattoto, in South Africa, there was such a thing a alluvian diamonds--one would walk along the beach a pick up a "diamond in the rough"...
