All Around The World Rush
Okay, this is going to be a live recruitment thread, but I'd like to keep the school secret. If you know the school (I'm sure it's easy to guess), please keep quiet.
A few things about me… No recs. (at a school where recs. are pretty important) and my GPA is 3.33. I'm not sure whether that is a decent GPA in comparison to other rushes, but there you go.
Recruitment has started. Being from a non-greek family, I was very excited/nervous about what to expect.
There are 13 sororities. I will code them after countries.
Kenya
Australia
Egypt
United Kingdom
Thailand
Russia
Spain
France
Argentina
Canada
Brazil
Greece
Italy
The first day I visited France, Thailand, Spain, Brazil and Egypt.
Brazil
This house was so pretty and I was overwhelmed by how cute all of the girls were. I only spoke to one girl at this house, who I felt I had a connection with. We spoke about traveling and sisterhood and I was amazed that half an hour went by so quickly. This good bye felt really sincere and she said she was so excited about meeting me. I really loved this house, but was aware it was considered one of the top houses.
France
Next stop was France. Again, this was one of the prettiest houses. I only spoke to one girl again and got on really well with her. She said to me 'I saw you and was so glad I got a pretty one. It's awkward when they're not'. Which I thought was a bit of an odd comment. But never the less, she was so nice and sweet and I definitely had the most fun talking to her. When we left she said she was so glad she had got to speak to me and wished me luck in recruitment. I felt that 'wishing me luck' meant that she enjoyed speaking to me, but knew that her chapter weren't going to be inviting me back. I felt even more sure of this when I found out that a couple of the other girls had been bumped at least once. Surely if they were interested they'd have bumped me too so that they could get enough of an opinion?
Spain
I remember really liking their songs and they ended the last one in a way which made everyone laugh. I was bumped twice here. I had great conversations with the first two girls, but it's a bit blurry. I remember enjoying speaking to them lots. With the third girl it felt a bit awkward. But I had a very positive feeling about this house.
Egypt
The main thing I remember about this house is how impossible it was to hear everyone. I only spoke to one girl and wasn't overly keen on her. She just didn't stop talking and kept repeating the same things. I think she was very nervous, but it came across as a bit full-on. This was definitely the house I liked the least out of the ones I saw today. I was willing to give them a chance, as I only spoke to one girl and it we really the noise issues which had put me off the most.
Thailand
When entering this house we had to shake hands with about 5 different people in a row, which was a bit awkward as we'd always be ready to shake their hand before they were. I really loved this house and felt a connection to all three girls that I spoke to. I liked their songs the most, as the girls seemed to be enjoying it so much and it really felt like such a family. They seemed to have a high focus on philanthropy and it we really nice. One of the girls opened up about why she has a personal reason to feel so connected to their philanthropy and whilst I didn't say, I also had a very similar reason and it made me really warm to this chapter.
If I had to rank the 5 I'd seen so far, it would be Brazil, Thailand, France, Spain, Egypt.
