I hate big stores of any kind. That includes Target, Sam's Club, KMart, etc.

I choose Target and qualify it with I shop at Target perhaps twice a year. That's way more than I shop at the other place.

I'm sorry but Wally World doesn't have a chance against Target. Target is sooo much cleaner ( thats gonna vary) and their product quality far exceeds Wal-Mart.

I have mad love for K-Mart because Kresge was such a philanthropist who did a lot for Detroit and the surrounding area.

Super Wal-Mart has better groceries, Target's store brand of Archer Farms is awesome. K-mart's not worth much around here, nor is Shop-Ko. I don't shop at either.

Sam's would be great if I needed to feed 4 other people or had a huge freezer but it's mostly awesome for free samples. I wish we had Cost-Co I've heard they're amazing.

Meijer is awesome.

Costco is alright, very good wine selection and probably second best here in El Paso next to Cost Plus. I grew up with Meijer and it's a great Wal-Mart alternative for people in the Great Lakes region. We didn't even get Wal-Mart in the SE Michigan area until the mid to late 90s, I guess once K-Mart started failing they figured they could weasel their way in.

Wal-Mart, because it's so much closer to me than Target.

BTW, a consumer show that I saw last week compared all of the super grocery stores, and Costco was by far the least expensive. I wouldn't know - the closest one to me is about 15 miles away.

I'd have to go to STL or Chicago to try it. They're just generally supposed to be a good store. And they have an excellent return policy (used to be practically unlimited.)

Target. Love Meijer for groceries (I actually drive past WallyWorld to get to Meijer).

A good friend of mine has a Cosco membership, so I occasionally go shopping with her and then pay her back for whatever picked up (she puts it on her Cosco card so she gets cash back or something). I should just get a Cosco membership, but I do most of my shopping during lunch and Cosco isn't near my work...

Target. Cleaner than Walmart. K-Mart stores here are just a mess.

Target with Costco a close second. As a matter of fact, I was at Target yesterday and am probably going to Costco later today.

Well maybe, but don't you pretty much have to buy everything in bulk? If you don't have a large family, the cost of finding someplace to store it and the amount of wasted/spoiled food far outweighs the savings.

Target all the way. The stores are cleaner, their employees at least pretend to care, and their sale prices are on par with Wal-Mart. I only go to Wal-Mart if I know the item I need is cheaper there than anywhere else, or if I need to stretch a couple bucks for grocery shopping. I absolutely despise Wal-Mart. It's always an unpleasant shopping experience.

Large family or freezer/pantry space. Although I do know people who share a membership and split the purchases from warehouse clubs like that.
