She suddenly wants to be "just friends"
I met this girl a few months ago. We'd been hanging out as part of a group for a while, then recently started just hanging out together and texting each other basically all day.
After a few weeks of this, I asked if she wanted to be more than friends, and she did. We went on two dates after that. After the first one, she went on about how much fun she had and how she couldn't wait to see me again. She seemed really excited about me in general ("I had so much fun last night" etc.). But, after the second one, I asked her if she had fun, but she just said she was "struggling with the more than friends thing".
I tried to give her some time to think, but I couldn't help it and started asking questions. The only reason she would give is that she "thought she liked me that way, but now she doesn't think she does". When I asked her what caused her to change her mind, she said "You're cute, interesting, nice, and funny, so I don't really know why I don't like you in that way."
So, I was just wondering if anyone could give me some insight into what could possibly be going through her mind. I don't understand how she can list a bunch of reasons to like me, but then say that she doesn't.
I'm just so confused, and I feel like there must be something she isn't telling me. It's like she instantly went from being all excited to "feeling awkward".
Most importantly, I'm wondering if there's any hope...
Thanks!

She's just not that into you.
Assuming that you are both young I can tell you exactly why she didn't like you and its bolded in blue.
She wants more than cute, interesting, nice and funny. Heard them all before when I was young. That's code for you are average, and she doesn't want average in her life right now.
Does that mean I advise you to be a jerk?
No, but you may have given off an impression that you are too eager, too available, somebody that would make a great friend, but I don't want to actually go their with you because I need you as a friend to support and cry on without ruining it with sex.
Welcome to the friends zone, we've all been there at one point in our lives and once you are placed there, that's it.
You do have the rare option though of getting out of the friends zone, mainly because she says she is struggling.
Most times a woman knows in the first two minutes (and I'm being generous...usually really two seconds) if you are friend or dating material. She at least tried to give you a shot. This is what you do to get out of the friends zone, (especially since it is obvious though you may not want to admit it to yourself that you don't want to be her friend) K.I.M. (Keep it moving) Tell her you got enough friends. Don't lie to yourself. Be true to you. Let her realize she missed out.
Last but not least

Women are fickle, find a new one...get an upgrade.
There are indeed more fish in the sea.

Shame on you for your generalizations...LOL! His story sounds like so many that I have heard from my girlfriends about men they were dating. I hear this story far more from women than men.
