UT Austin Letters of Rec

I am planning on rushing in the fall at the University of Texas at Austin. I am in the process of getting together my resume, pictures and a transcript to give to the ladies who will be writing my references. Does anyone know which sororities allow actives at other universities to write recs? I know that a lot of the sororities now allow actives to write recs if they do not go to the same school that the girl they are writing the rec for will be attending. Does anyone know which sororities do not allow this? Also, I live in Austin, does anyone know when the latest the Austin Panhellenic accepts references is?

Thanks you all!

This thread list some of them, but it is not an exhaustive list.

I suggest asking your friends about the policies of their specific sororities.

ETA: As far as accepting recs, the sooner the better. If you wait too close to recruitment, it may not make it to the designated chapter in time.

I know that UT has a deadline for when they accept registration forms and stuff like that which is (i believe June 1st), so that is probably the ultimate cut-off point.

I would suggest going to the Austin Alumnae Panhellenic website and emailing them yourself.

We have a deadline in May - simply to allow us time to get everything together and to the chapters in time. The sooner, the better, as far as getting your information to the alumnae panhellenic.

Houston Pi Phi is May 1 (but they've been known to take them up to June 1 for stragglers )

texas8, this link may be helpful to you... it's from the Austin Panhellenic and the links contain lots of information for women going through recruitment, including a "to do" list and a sample recruitment resume.

http://www.austinpanhellenic.org/join-sorority.html

Also, here is a link to several Texas Panhellenic associations' websites, where I'm sure you can find more contact information:

http://www.npcwomen.org/alumnae-panh...directory.aspx

The Austin Area Panhellenic Association's deadline to submit a Recruitment Information Form is June 1st.

Good luck to you!

The OP already has this info since I gave it to her in response to several PMs she sent me a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure why she is posting this here too........
