All things Hello Kitty

Hello my fellow Hellow Kitty lovers. This is hard for me to admit, but I love Hello Kitty! I try to keep it under wraps by buying discreet HK items (since I am 33 years old and have no kids to blame the purchases on ) because after all, I am a working, professional adult. But Sanrio has soooooo many adorable items that it is hard. I'm starting to think that Sanrio is putting subliminal messages in their advertising a la Halloween 3: Silver Shamrock.

And now, I am fascinated with Chococat!

I can't be the only adult that likes Hello Kitty.

My name is SWTXBelle ...

. . . and I love Hello Kitty. My freshman dorm room was Hello Kitty ('82) - everyone else had SMURFS. This was before you could easily get HK. I used a HK notebook in graduate school, and was thrilled I had two girls first - the eldest(gypsyboots) liked Keriokeropi (sp?) best, though.

I am more restrained now, but do have a sequined HK head on my cell phone. I wish I could get the HK electric guitar for gypsyboots - she would LOVE it.

I love Hello Kitty but I ADORE her friend, Chococat. He's such a cutie!

OMG, I am in love with Chococat too! I went to Claire's last night and they had TONS of Chococat stuff. I remained calm and just bought the Chococat booble head (for my desk at home) and a necklace (for weekends/going out).

I'm waiting on Build-a-Bear to get Chococat so I can go make one!

Can YOU get out of my head please? I spent $68 in Claire's yesterday between my daughter and me. I spent about 15 minutes looking at the HK section. I used to have a notebook with HK, Chocolat and Melody on it. I have Chocolat pencils and a book bag.

OMG I had a Chococat notebook, journal, and note paper a few years ago, and still have a small Chococat stuffed animal that you can hang from your backpack (he's just sitting on a shelf). I wanted the umbrella but my husband looked at me with such pity that I decided against it. Of course, now I am going to go to Claire's and take a look at what's there.

I fell in love with him bc I have a black cat, and can't resist looking for stuff if I see HK.

ETA I also have a Chococat CD case in my car.

I Heart Hellokitty!

I had a HK cordless phone in my apartment a few years ago...until a glass of water on my nightstand fell on it and it refused to work again....

I keep HK pens in my purse for check-writing purposes.

One of the Media Specialists at my school has a HK CD player in her office.

Target usually has a pretty good selection of fun HK items in their electronics department. And isn't somebody doing HK diamond jewelry now?

^^ Yes I think Kimora Lee Simmons does HK jewelery for Baby Phat.

The Target dollar bins were great! I got some fun stuff.

I love Kitty! Pink is for girls

I have a Hello Kitty BOA debit card!

She is the background of my phone.

She is my wall calendar for the past 2 years (and I have the 09 calendar ready to go).

She is my pencil/pen case.

She is my notebook (every one for the past 4 years)!

I have several "dolls" (all gifts), pillows, and other accessories.

I LOVE HELLO KITTY (especially when they make her with brown skin because she looks even more like me!) Even my chapter nickname is based on Hello Kitty!

ETA: Chococat is pretty awesome, too. <3 That he's "black"! (My boyfriend has a nickname for me that is similar to Chococat, also.)

When I lived in Honolulu, there was a Japanese toy store behind the store where I worked. They carried huge amounts of HK stuff-this was in the late seventies and HK must have been new but every afternoon, the place would be crammed with schoolgirls who would leave with loaded bags.

My ZTA daughter is a major fan of both Hello Kitty and pirates and I've just found her a HK pirate shirt in Hot Topic, I don't believe it.

Apparently there is a dessert shop in Taipei that is entirely HK themed called "Hello Kitty Sweets":
