Question Is the president doing too much, too soon?

In a very short amount of time,President Obama is doing so much because he wants to keep his promises to America. He has incredible ambition, but do you think he is doing too much too soon?

Define "too much".

Well,he's only been in office for about a week or so,and he's already making plans to close Guantanimo Bay,reaching out to Muslims in the Middle East, and trying to fix the economy. You don't think he should slow down a little bit?

What is the danger of going 'too fast'?

Uuhhhhh no?

This is his JOB. This is what he signed up for when he decided to run last year.
He doesn't have time to sit back and 'soak it all in" or "bask in the glow" while our ecomony is in shambles with MORE job cuts on the way and a war we are waging that we can start NOW to conclude. Also this is why you have a cabinent.

If the phone rings at 3am you want him to ignore it til 6?

WHat you basing this question on? Something you read, your own observations....?

Good points...but do you think it's unyielding ambition or fullfilling his promise?

Possibly the second one.

Again...since you posted before I finished my edit...what are you basing all of this on?

He's not John McCain.

To be honest I am not sure exactly where you are going with this thread...if this is simply a matter of his physical and mental health, then I will answer that by saying anyone that runs for president, that is what they sign up for. They should already be aware of the trials and tribulations that await should they be elected. By Obama only being in his mid 40's isn't too likely to just 'keel over' dead from the stress.

Again, this is their job to juggle multiple issues simultaneously. That's why they are the president.

LOL...another good point,John McCain is not young at all,and I'm not knocking on Obama's ambitions at all;in fact I'm very proud of him.

I did think it was a little too soon to go to the Hill. It made him seem too much like a Senator for while...I thought he would want to wait a bit until then.

to the original question - no, i don't think he's doing too much too soon.

its been a few years since we've had a complete regime change but i'm pretty sure the first week of most new presidents is pretty eventful.

on another note, i see this as a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. he'll have people questioning his actions no matter what...

Yeah. I have read articles about how ALL of the presidents have suffered stress-related ailments during their presidency...ulcers, migraines, angina, etc.
