Cash Flow

While this may be a sensitive topic, I think it's a good thing to discuss. I was watching...I can't remember which talk show...today and there were recent college grads on there talking about how horrible life is and how poor they are. Many suggested that they had not been properly prepared for the realities of life. My questions to you, for the benefit of those currently in college, are:

1) What year were you awarded your last degree (please specify degree Bachelor's/Master's/etc.)?
2) What is your monthly income?
3) In what city and state do you live?

I'll be brave and begin

1) 2003 (B.A. in English)
2) $1200
3) Athens, Georgia

I don't think anyone is "skerred". Most people feel that it's no one's business to know how much they make in a month.

And asking how much money someone makes is just like asking a lady her weight... it's just not polite.

Honey, it's before. And, I know someone who lives in Atlanta off of an $800 stipend. The real world is no joke.

You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm southern bred, so I know the rules. However, it seems that people are misinformed about reality and I'm asking everyone to put their pride away for a moment to let college students know how it REALLY is.

By the way, "skerred" was meant in good fun.

OMG....I know this is going to sound bad but... I don't have my degree yet and I make more than $1,200 a month working as a hostess. Holy COW! and I only work 20-30 hours a week.

I have an interview this Tues for a job at a Law Firm and if I get it, I'll be making more than my best friend does and she has her degree.

I was simply asking in case anyone wanted to post, so everyone was posting the same information. Calm down.

I am a supervisor in a clothing store while I get my master's, and the only reason I have extra money to go shopping with is because I live with my sister and she doesn't charge me rent. Seriously. If I had to make my car payment, pay for my prescriptions, contact lenses, cell phone, and all the other stuff I pay for now PLUS pay rent, I'd be so broke it wouldn't even be funny. And Kentucky isn't even close to being the most expensive place to live.
