7 Dirty Words: Your Tax Dollars At Work!

Probably not work-safe.. but here's a bill that was introduced into the House of Representatives to punish broadcasters who allow "profane" words on their broadcasts: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:H.R.3687:

I remember when I moved to Canada and first heard someone say sh*t on a nationwide news broadcast. Now I don't even blink twice when I hear it on TV. Is this really a big deal? Do you care whether the words mentioned in this bill are uttered on TV?

I'm soooo glad that Congress is focusing its energy on fighting the word "piss", rather than dealing with trivial matters like overhauling the tax code, or the War on Terror.

Friends, I don't know whether this is real or not, but it is straight out of a George Carlin standup routine back in the late 60's or early 70's.

No, I'm not kidding.

I suspect someone's playing games on that link.

Holy crap DA.. word for word.

My father has the 33. It's still funny as heck.

But the .gov extention seems to validate this as a real law.

Well, as Telecommunications majors and young broadcasters, we sure had fun with it.

Yeah, it shows up on the Congressional archives search through thomas.loc.gov. This doesn't seem to be a "bomb," like the 'miserable failure' search on Google. I knew they were the George Carlin words, I just didn't think that they were as offensive now as they were 30 years ago.

If that's a real doc, which I'm sure it is cuz of the .gov like some of you said, it's just really funny to see those words printed.

especially, here's initials... C-sucker, mother-f.... what about blow job?
