7 Dirty Words: Your Tax Dollars At Work!
Probably not work-safe.. but here's a bill that was introduced into the House of Representatives to punish broadcasters who allow "profane" words on their broadcasts: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:H.R.3687:
I remember when I moved to Canada and first heard someone say sh*t on a nationwide news broadcast. Now I don't even blink twice when I hear it on TV. Is this really a big deal? Do you care whether the words mentioned in this bill are uttered on TV? |

Friends, I don't know whether this is real or not, but it is straight out of a George Carlin standup routine back in the late 60's or early 70's.
No, I'm not kidding. I suspect someone's playing games on that link. |

My father has the 33. It's still funny as heck. But the .gov extention seems to validate this as a real law. |
Well, as Telecommunications majors and young broadcasters, we sure had fun with it.

If that's a real doc, which I'm sure it is cuz of the .gov like some of you said, it's just really funny to see those words printed.
