Recruitment Nightmares
Does anyone else have nightmares that they're having to rush again?

Sometimes. I''m in a loud, giant, darkly lit room and cannot hear my rusher's questions. Don't have any from the other side.

Yes!
I have a sorority/recruitment nightmare at least twice a month.
Sometimes it's that I'm going through rush.
Sometimes it's that I'm overseeing a large recruitment event for lots of sororities and I'm trying to remember all the correct colors and symbols.
Usually, it's that I'm back in college moving back into my sorority house, but I don't know any of the sisters, or the songs, and they all hate me.
I'm 40 years old.

Hmm. I do sometimes have dreams that I'm back in the dorm or the sorority house but it's usually just mildly confusing, not a nightmare. But yes I am the age I am now.

Mine are always that I'm the recruitment advisor, and the members know nothing. PMNs are walking in while no one is lined up to pick them up.

The ones I have usually center around pledge class sizes. In my dreams, our chapter usuallly ends up with way too many women that no one remembers meeting. That kind of thing. It's strange. I don't remember how it ends, since it's been a while since I've had this dream. Most of my dreams seem to be the recurring type, centered around a couple of themes.

I'm always a rushee in my dreams. Sometimes I know that I'm already a Pi Phi and nobody will listen. Sometimes I'm ridiculously dressed (like in my gumdrop pajamas). Overall, they're like the dreams where you have a test or a class that you never knew about--I don't know where the parties are, etc.
I hate these dreams! Some people love rushing but I didn't!

I posted a thread about this awhile back. This was what I posted:

Real life backstory: I “rushed” and pledged in the fall of my sophomore year, and was initiated at the beginning of spring semester. At the end of that semester, my chapter closed due to low numbers. We all became alumnae, I stayed at school and graduated 2 years later.
Last night’s dream: Apparently I transferred schools sometime after being initiated, and planned to participate in sorority recruitment. I thought that through this process, I would either be accepted to affiliate with the Chi Omega chapter at the new school, or, if that didn’t work out, I would join one of the other sororities. The day of recruitment, I was all dressed and ready to go, when suddenly I remembered (!) that I wouldn’t be allowed to join another NPC sorority. At that point, I also became certain that the Chi Os were not going to want me. I ran off, desperately searching for the director of Greek Life to find out if that campus had any locals or other alternative sororities I could join. I tracked her down and asked my questions, but then the dream ended, so that was it.
I guess that’s what happens when I read Greek Chat last thing before going to bed.
