Finding a Badge
Okay. Here's my situation. A few years back, there was a badge that I really liked, but never seemed to have the extra cash lying around to purchase. To this day, I still wear my old undergraduate "goldgloss" badge - but I've been considering a jeweled badge for a couple of years now.
The badge I was looking for was 10k or 14k with a pearled crescent. The Lambda was jeweled with emeralds, but the three points were amethyst. I always thought this was a neat layout for the stones because the badge then incorporated purple, green, and gold. Sadly, this badge is no longer offered.
If anyone knows where I could possibly find one, I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Dave,
I had one like that but sold it to another brother here on Greek Chat. Maybe he will sell it you? We shall see.

you could always buy a new one from HJGreek and have your local jeweler make the appropriate changes.

The problem with many times is it gets very expensive.
I know only to well!

Herff Jones advertises badges with an all-emerald Lambda and an all-amethyst Lambda (same price for each), so you'd think they could make one with 8 emeralds 3 amethysts. Have you called and asked them?

I was curious to try to get a badge custom made through HJ.
I was told that those sort of orders generally have to be made BY HJ to the company that makes the badges for them.... which equals HJ ordering a shipment of 1... which equals expensive.
I had wanted to purchase a garnet, amethyst, emerald badge, but after my phone call to HJ, I went with the Emerald and diamond point.
I would suggest looking into having a local jeweler alter it for you, as was suggested earlier. It will probably stil be expensive, but cheaper than through HJ.
