I know that most Sorors who attended Boule are at home recuperating, but if you can possibly drag yourself to the computer, pleeaase SHARE! I want to live vicariously!

Seeing and meeting Sorors from all over the country and world especially Asian and White Sorors.

Favorite event has to be the March to the Capitol! Just awesome to see other greeks in a sea of Pink and Green.

The Ivy Beyond The Wall Ceremony moved me the most. I was in tears as we sang "I Think That I Shall Never Know"!!

I truly had a great time! I am totally missing seeing Sorors everywhere!!!

Soror,

I was most moved to just be in the house with 23K other sorors when we first went into session. It was amazing.

Highlights -
seeing line sisters and sorors who were there for me even before I was an AKA (I hadn't seen some of them in years since I moved from Chicago)

seeing a sea of pink and green on the streets of Washington D.C. during the march and on an almost daily basis. WE.TOOK.OVER.D.C. talk about an amazing sight!

marching on the capitol and knowing that the ONLY OTHER TIME THAT PENNSYLVANIA AVE HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN FOR A GROUP IS WHEN THE POPE CAME.

hearing from our congresswomen sorors who made it happen on Penn Ave.

Going to Howard and seeing the Founders' window live and in color. Seeing the Centennial plot outside of Rankin chapel on Campus.

Seeing our pic and article in pink and green on the front page of the Washington Post first thing Monday a.m.!!

Visiting the "Window", plot, and tree at Howard are the only thing I regret not being able to do!

I was a delegate, therefore, I attended all sessions faithfully! I didn't even get to the vendors selection until Thursday!

so these answers will be brief.

1. That this was my first Boule. It was amazing, overwhelming, and awesome. I grow increasingly fascinated by the workings of Alpha Kappa Alpha.

2. Hard to say. But I really like the smaller events where we could really sit and get to know new sorors from across the country; so, the different meals and receptions, and just hanging out in the hotel lobby.

3. Several things: Meeting and listening to some our Golden Girls. I met a Pi Chapter '47 soror, who was just as sweet as she could be.

Visiting Howard University, Rankin Chapel, and the Archives. Finding a picture of a soror cousin who pledged Alpha Chapter in the 1940s (we still have not pinned down the year), being with my grandmother as we uncovered that bit of history.

Those are just some of my highlights. As I said, I am still in recovery. Glad I have my summers off.

I liked the fact that I ran into sorors I haven't seen in years. For instance, I ran into soror PinkIvy- the very first soror I ever approached as an interest.

What was your favorite event?

My favorite event was probably the State of the Sorority Address.

What most moved you?

So many things...I started to tear up as soon as I walked into the building. There was a life-sized cardboard statue that said "Sorors I'm so very proud of you- Ethel H. Lyle" (brought me to tears). Then when I walked into the meeting room and saw how many beautiful sorors were there hugging and smiling...it was breathtaking. I was also moved by the artifacts in the area just outside the meeting room and certainly by the artifacts at the Founders Library at Howard. At te founders library there were letters handwritten by the founders speaking of the organization (I'll post those pics soon).

This was my first Boule as well. I enjoyed sharing and being reunited with family and friends from my home-town. It moved me to see that many sorors, all ages, in one place at one time. The Centennial Musuem at the convention center was wonderful and visiting Howard University was an extremely heart-warming experience. My favorite event was the Unity Day March.

Getting my Pink and Green Bible
Seeing my linesisters
My undergraduate chapter shutting down the entire sidewalk from one corner to another singing, chanting and strolling outside of McCormick and Schmidts
Seeing one of the two living charter memebers from my undergrad chapter who is a Diamond Diva.
Hanging out with Soror Mommy and members of my current chapter. Watching my Great Aunt getting her Golden Crown.
Seeing several Sorors who went to college with me that I hadn't seen since I graduated - Soror SKEEphistAKAte is one of them.
My list can go on and on.

What most moved you?

So many things...can't name them but the IBTW Ceremony really did it for me.

I have been away from the chat because I was in Washington, DC for the celebration and then I came back from the celebration and lost my mother three days later. So, I have been through a lot since the last time chatted online. I ask that you all keep me in your prayers.

So now Sorors, those of you who attended the celebration, what were your impression or comments about the event. Let me start off. I really enjoyed every second, every minute, every hour, and every day of the time that I was there. There were a few flaws and even though it was expensive, I still enjoyed it. Got a chance to see a few important places in the city, especially HOWARD UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!!! I had a great time and hope to go back maybe for a weekend and see some more places and come back home.
